  • Piven’s actions promote sedition and should be punishable by law. I used the word “should” because we all know nothing will be done about it.

  • Malik Shabazz is playing to the haters, along with our President’s Administration and his re-election staff, working harder than ever to divide us by race, creed and financial class. The goal is to divide and conquer; while we’re fighting amongst ourselves, we‘re not paying attention to the rights and freedoms the President is whittling away with every Executive Order that the irrelevant mainstream media doesn’t tell us about. The majority of Americans are not haters; we are not bigots, we are not demonstrators and we will not be baited by the rhetoric. In November you will hear us loud and clear.

  • I am far more disturbed a comment he made during his speech (starting at 1:50):
“If you only have formal control of the government, but you don’t have the media and you don’t have the movement, you can be checkmated.”

  • Jehmu Greene perfectly exhibited the racist element in the Democratic party. I agree with others who are saying she should not be allowed to appear again on Fox News.

  • Just sent a message to Anderson Cooper thanking him for the unbiased, journalistic interview of the MoveOn.org spokesman. Refreshing!

  • Not only is the flag misplaced, the stars are depicted incorrectly. It is not ten vertical rows of five stars each as depicted, it is six rows of five stars each and five rows of 4 stars; each 4 star row in between two five star rows. What can you expect from a White House so disconnected from America that the President doesn’t even know how many states there are?

  • I couldn‘t be more pleased with the Methodist General Conference’s decision not to change the Book of Discipline. In this day and age, with more and more self-serving Bible “translations” coming out (such as the abominable NLT), it is refreshing to have another church stand up for their beliefs. As a Methodist, I can affirm that all are welcome in the Methodist Church, as evidenced by the open communion rail. As Protestants, we believe that your relationship with God is a personal one, there is no intermediary and judgement is God’s alone, not man’s. So come as you are, and you will be loved and accepted. But scriptures also tell us to not alter the word of God, not add to nor diminish it. We can love another and accept one another for who we are, without passing judgement, and without altering biblical teachings.

  • Harrison Schultz seems like a very nice, but very confused, young man. Hard to believe he’s 29. Harrison believes the government should provide all basic needs for free, housing, education, health care, dental care, day care, transportation, he didn’t mention food but I suppose that would be included as it is a basic need. Since Harrison thinks that it’s the responsibility of the government and big corporations to provide these things at no cost to citizens, and also iterating that big corporations give their services away (Facebook), I would like Harrison to explain where the money will come from. Who would buy, could afford to buy, any American product or service that is priced to support every American citizen for free. I feel bad for this “kid.” (Though not a kid, he’s 29, but his thinking and deductive reasoning appears to be about 18.) Someone give this kid a job so he can become a productive member of society again.

  • Over the years, I’ve noticed that the service at restaurants that charge the automatic gratuity tend to have the worst service. This should not be called a gratuity or a tip (“To Insure Prompt Service”), as servers receive it regardless of the level of service they provide; it is therefore a surcharge. When you get it without having to work for it, quality goes down. Same kind of mentality that overcomes union shops….the productivity goes down. Anyone that does really well is advised to back off because they’re making every one else look bad.

  • I’ve always been uncomfortable with the “black culture” that many in the black community insist on projecting on their youth. We all grow up in this American culture. We love the same, we hurt the same, we have the same feelings of inadequacy, embarrassment, joy and love of good joke. We all want to be accepted. We are short, tall, skinny, fat. When we love and accept others as they are, we are loved and accepted. No one of any race, color or creed should let anyone else tell them who they are or should be. Race or ethnicity, skin color, language, size, shape does not define anyone. What is in our hearts define us. In the context of Obama’s confusion, he had to “go black.” That refers to attitude, not a change in heart. It is sad that anyone defines themselves, and limits their interactions with others, on the basis of skin color. His later attendance at a black liberation theology church, led by “former” Muslim Rev. Wright, just added more internal conflict.
