  • But it has to be true! Otherwise all those fancy degrees would be nothing more than wall decorations! Please dear god, let us be right this time!

  • I’d really like to know that these “predictions” are real, and not “wishful thinking,” but I’m NOT seeing it getting better out there. everything costs MORE, not less, and the price of oil has not dropped down, rather it has gone up.

Stop speculating on what is going to happen, you can’t predict the markets any better than the weather. Just prepare for the worst while you hope for the best.

  • Coming from an avid handgun shooter, I find this story at least semi-suspect, don’t you? Without knowing more details, which I hope will become available soon, I know of very few guns which, unless loaded, cocked, and with the safety off, a child could easily fire within a couple of seconds.

Until more evidence is forthcoming, however, my thoughts and prayers are with the family in the midst of this tragedy.

  • And here we see the real difference between reporting and activism. A true journalist would be about the truth, plain and simple. an activist is looking for the “sound byte,” a small piece of audio, taken totally out of context, to spin things the way they want them.

I‘m joining snowleopard’s round of applause and hats off to the blaze for showing the not-so agenda driven story.

  • The media has changed drastically in the last century, LOYALTY, and no longer just delivers the news. In case you hadn’t noticed, the WHOLE COUNTRY is held hostage by the media. Do I like it? No, I don’t. I think it’s about the dumbest thing about our current crises. The media reports about rising oil futures, and immediately the gas prices jump. The media talks about budget concerns and restricting the collective bargaining rights in WI, and people come running from OTHER STATES to protest something that has nothing to do with them. Why did the cops not pepper spray those protesters that broke into the Capitol in WI? because the MEDIA would crucify them for doing it. Like it or not, the media is a STRONG voice in our country today. So yes, the rest of “us” DO give a crap, and should.

By the way, thanks for taking my attempt at humor as a personal attack.

  • It’s comments like this that get conservatives in trouble in the media. If you want to talk violence, you better get with the program, and start singing the progressive tune, mister!

  • I agree with Rose on this point. to an individual person, it might represent states rights, but, though they were possibly justified in what they tried to do, they were in fact traitors to the United States. I believe that, to most people, the symbolism of the Rebel colors DOES mean bigotry, racism, and hate.

Mind you, I’m not calling this man a racist, or a bigot, or a hate-monger. To him, it may mean something very noble, with a clear picture of what the CSA wanted when they broke away, which, in my own opinion, was “Feds, stop telling me what to do!” However, to the people around him, including his emplyers, it might mean something totally different.

I am a conservative by nature, but I understand that offensive things are totally subjective. What is no big deal to me, might be a HUGE DEAL to somebody else.

  • The really sad part about this story, in my opinion, is that I’m willing to bet that within a week, that billboard will be replaced by another without the child’s picture on it. Life Always may have the law on their side, but sadly will likely see the Public Relations fallout as undesirable, and take down the offending picture rather than stick to their guns.
