  • Thank you Dismayed Veteran for your defence of our northern neighbors ! As the daughter of a Canadian Father and American Mother I am proud of both sides of my family and the traditions that have been shared with me. And Remeberance Day is something special !!! Much like what I saw while stationed in England…..Correct…no BBQ’s but true honor and appreciation shown. As an Army wife of 32 years it touched me more deply than I can even express. Thank you!

  • I for one like the fact that Christie does not speak the PC lingo. He was right in my opinion…..the gay rights thing should be on the ballot vs legislated. If “We the people” are in fact, “We the people”, should we not have have the opportunity to make the decision vs having legislation shoved down our throats at every turn?

YOU STATED: Well there ya go you wonderful bleeding heart purest libs! What happened to your separation of church and state!? This exactly why the founding fathers put it in the constitution to STOP Gov from doing!!!

IT IS NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION: The phrase “separation of church and state” itself does not appear in the United States Constitution. The First Amendment states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

“The term is an offshoot of the phrase, “wall of separation between church and state,” as written in Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. The original text reads: “… I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.” Jefferson reflected his frequent speaking theme that the government is not to interfere with religion.
