  The biggest difference isn’t the state vs. federal issue, which is completely valid by the way. The real issue is that being mandated to purchase auto insurance is a requirement for operating a motor vehicle. You can choose whether or not you want to drive and then be required to purchase insurance.

  If you are mandated to buy health care coverage, what is the pre-requisite activity that has forced such a mandate upon you? Living? Therein lies the problem.

  The point is the PACE of progress rapidly advances with the presence of the profit motive. Read the 5000 Year Leap for some good perspective on this. Do you disagree with the premise that Capitalism has done more to advance the human living condition that any other economic system? If so, what system is better?

  THIS is what happens when you don’t teach your kids history. This guy really believes what he says because he doesn’t know the real history of the USA.

  America is not a great nation because of the Dept. of Education, food stamps, labor unions, and SSI!! Are you kidding me?

  The American idea is individual freedom. The only economic model that fits with individual freedom is capitalism and capitalism is not inherently good or bad. It’s like a hammer. It can be used to create or destroy it all depends on the intent of those who use it.

  Right now, in America, we are a people far removed from God and the morals of natural law. As a result our economy is hurting. We are no longer individualists. Too many people with the collective mentality that someone else owes them something.

  SSI, Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, etc are infested with fraud and abuse and act as a drain on even the most healthy of economies. In our current state, these poorly conceived programs are like an anchor around our neck. Labor unions are one of the big reasons jobs flee to other countries. The “Great Society” enslaves people into poverty and destroys the American family.

  We are not the evil or the ones without compassion. We just understand what true compassion is. We understand what works and what fails. We understand that a man can only save himself. We are not the wrecking ball. The lies of a free lunch are a wrecking ball man’s freedom.

  Don’t shoot the messenger.
