  Democrat and rational energy policy are mutually exclusive. Jimmah Carter, on April 7, 1977 killed the American development of nuclear energy with his “we will indefinitely defer development of commercial nuclear fuel reprocessing. Prior to idiot Carter’s decree the industry had established active programs for reprocessing of spent fuels to recover useable uranium , isolation of useable plutonium for mixed oxide reactors and containment of high level waste into very small volumes for permanent disposal in a controlled site along with DOD waste, suspected to be deep in Yucca mountain. As a potential future energy source the breeder reactor was also under active development at a site at Clinch River, Tn. The potential for energy today increasing for energy tomorrow with hazards controlled by the lightwater reactor recycle technology. But NO, dumbass Jimmah chose to stop everything rather than introduce whatever rational or irrational concerns he could identify. In a capital intensive industry the Carter dumbass move meant financal disaster and billions of dollars invested in the recycle system and future disposal and regeneration technologies were chocked to death by the ignorant Jimmah Carter, can‘t understand why the ignorant bastard hasn’t died an excruciating death by now.
