  • I am 24 years old. I graduated college at 20 and have been working since.

In June 2009 I moved out on my own. In July 2009 I was laid off. I collected unemployment for 6 weeks then accepted a job that paid me less than I made before. I started using credit cards to pay bills and other expenses. I racked up over $12,000 of credit card debt in a year.

I tried finding a better paying job but could not, so I started an MBA program in January. I am 2 semesters in (out of 5) and already have about $20,000 of student loan debt.

I should be protesting at Wall Street this week.

I am not, here is why:
Instead of blaming banks and credit card companies for my debt I closed all my accounts and consolidated my credit card debt (with a private company)to get lower interest rates. I now use no credit cards, but have cut back on my spending to balance my budget.

I started working my butt off at my current job. Last week I received my 2nd promotion and raise in 8 months. I am working on a 4.0 GPA in my MBA program. I plan on paying back my student loans once I graduate and not taking on more debt UNTIL I CAN AFFORD IT.

I pay 9% of my income to federal taxes and another 11% to other taxes and governments. I am the 53%

  • I am a 53%-er – Are you?

  • ‘Would you please raise my taxes?’

    September 26, 2011 at 5:17pm

If this guy really wants higher taxes can’t he write a bigger check? If he wants more investment, can’t he invest? What he says raise “my” taxes, he means raise everyone else’s taxes. Obama was all too happy to agree with him

  • To Mr. O’Donnell: You could not be more wrong. Rand Paul is not empowered to hold up a vote on the debt ceiling, THE PEOPLE OF KENTUCKY EMPOWERED HIM TO DO SO!! That‘s why they’re called elections. Rand Paul- Empowered by the people, Presidential Czars- Just empowered
To Mr. Olbermann- If corporations and banks are people too, what does that make unions?
To Ms. Maddow- The tea party does NOT stand for fresh faces or washington outsiders, it stands for ideals- small government, lower taxes, more power to the people. If someone inside washington believes that, why wouldn’t the tea party vote for them.

  • We are so dumb, but who was in charge during the dumbing down of America?

Think about it: In 2008 people were SOOOOOO smart that during a really rough time they voted for “hope and change” over the “politics of the past”

In 2010, when times were rough, the people were SOOOOOO stupid and dumb they voted for “fear and scare” instead of “change doesn’t take 18 months”

Now, who was in charge during those 2 years where people could get so dumb??

  • What Grayson wanted to say buy couldn’t cause it would give everything away:
The job of an elected official isn’t to comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted. The job is to comfort the afflicted AND AFFLICT THE COMFORTABLE!!!

That is what he and the liberals in congress and the White House believe and thank you to the state of Florida for voting this bum out!!

  • No Chris, companies make their profits by SELLING STUFF. And you know the best way to sell stuff, make stuff cheaper. How do you make stuff cheaper? Have machines, who don’t get paid, make it instead of union workers, who get paid too much. The cheaper you make stuff, the more people buy it, the more the company makes, the more it can invest in expanding their operation and hiring more people.

This is the real story of stuff.

  • I can just see the side by side now:
Ed Schultz- Its the conservatives who want to change America
Barack Obama- We are … from tranforming America.

Might just be me but something smells fishy. Oh never mind it‘s not something it’s Ed Schultz
