‘Alien Interstellar Matter’ Spotted: Just How Different Is Space Outside of Our Solar System?
February 2, 2012 at 11:23am
#EVANRIJN Here is a quote from the NASA web site IBEX Q&A. ” The IBEX satellite will climb into an orbit that goes 5/6 of the way to the Moon.” They also have a very nice simulation of the orbit that shows an eliptical orbit that reaches near the lunar orbit. Maybe you should have read a little more than the launch specs. Just because it was released at under 5000 miles, doesn‘t mean that’s where it stays.

Here’s your answer, Dark matter and dark energy are wild guesses to compensate for the fact that current theories don’t account for some of what we observe. We need them because without them we would have to admit that there are things we think we know that are wrong.

Before you call someone an idiot, maybe you should know what you’re talking about. IBEX is in an eliptical orbit which ranges from about 5000 to 190000 miles. That would make the 200,000 number a lot closer than your 200. Who’s the idiot now?
IBM Creates World’s Smallest Magnetic Storage Device From 12 Atoms
January 13, 2012 at 8:03pm
Don’t hold your breath. It could take decades if ever to get this to any usable form at an affordable price. Reminds me of the hype over holographic data storage which lasted for about 20 years. I have yet to see it on the market. Creating the hardware to read and write to 12 atoms at any useful speed is a task that will require technology that has not yet been dreamed of. I worked for IBM for 20 years and had stacks of their Journal of Research. You wouldn’t believe the stuff these guys discover that never amounts to anything. Still, I do think that this will help keep hard drive advances going.
Smile: Tiny Uniform Cameras Spreading to Police Departments Across the Country
November 7, 2011 at 1:32pm
This isn’t big brother. 1984 was watching all of us. This is to monitor a public servant in the perfomance of his duty. Most of us have constant or nearly constant supervision at work. This just does that for the police. This is not to say that I approve. There is a problem in that it also monitors everyone that the officer comes into contact with. If you want to make sure that people won’t talk to the police, just put them on camera.
Kent St. Prof. Reportedly Yells ‘Death to Israel’ at Event With Israeli Diplomat
October 26, 2011 at 12:02pm
Are you saying that he didn’t say “Death to Isreal”? Or are you just thinking it was justified. I would be interested in the truth if you are capable of it. BTW you said you attend Kent State, you didn’t say you attended this speech. If you weren’t there, how do you know what happened? Your childish post leaves a lot of questions. Please give detail.
Kent St. Prof. Reportedly Yells ‘Death to Israel’ at Event With Israeli Diplomat

With all the anti-bullying and anti hate speach things going on today, you would think that saying Death to anything would be cause for termination. Oh that’s right, it is with two exceptions; Isreal and America.
Muslim High School Girl Barred from Marching in ROTC Parade Because of Head Scarf
October 21, 2011 at 9:55pm
They only wouldn’t allow her to wear the scarf in a parade. I assume that means that she has been allowed to wear it for everything else. The military has been very accommodating. In a parade the word uniform means just that and the scarf would not work. The same would go for any deviation. Even chaplains cannot wear clerical collars in certain situations. She had the choice to wear the uniform or not participate in the parade. That was more choice than she would have had when I wore the uniform.
Climate Change Skeptic Rethinks Position After New Analysis?
October 21, 2011 at 9:41pm
If you read carefully you will see that the whole purpose of BEST is to “address” skeptics. This is code for refute. Not an honest attempt at truth, but a new spin to appear legitimate. Of course the first clue is Berkeley. Those libs think they are soooooo smart.
Obama Admin Gave Half-Billion-Dollar Loan to Gore-Connected Electric Car Company to Build Cars in… Finland?
October 21, 2011 at 10:24am
How does this help shift the country to renewable energy. At $100,000 only the top 1% can afford to buy them. I thought we didn’t like them and wanted to take their money. Then even they won’t be able to buy this car. Liberals are so stupid.
