  • SIMPLE things on and just git-er-done.

  • Absolutely right! How could this guy and his wife get in the way of “first-responders” when they had to be the first-responders! Let’s not abdicate all of our responsibilities to each other and believe that we have to sit on the sidelines and wait for the professionals to arrive (not to diminish the importance of the trained pro’s, we do need them, too).

You can see this everywhere these days. Like a whole crowd of people standing in a circle around someone suffering a heart attack, or worse, like the guy who was shot in NY and caught on security cams. People just stood there waiting for someone else to do something! Put some freakin pressure on the wounds and try to stop the bleeding!

I was eating lunch one day at a Subway in a grocery store strip mall. The kind with the parking lot divided up by rows of hedges and landscaping. When all of a sudden…OH MY GOD! One tiny section of one of these hedges was smoking. Not on fire, just smoldering from some idiot’s discarded coffin nail. Most people just stared, a few grew a little anxious, and finally someone said to the store owner, “call 911, quick!” WTF! I intercepted him before he got to the phone and asked, “Dude, you got a bucket to mop these floors?” I followed his gaze to where the bucket was, grabbed it, filled it with some stuff called water and dumped it on the damn thing- twice for good measure! That pissed me off cuz it really was a demonstration of how little people are willing to take SIM

  • We don’t know what happened prior to where the recording picks up. Maybe the teacher was struck first. We don’t know. However, the teacher was backed up against a DOOR and could have left the room, gone to another classroom and called for school security. Just saying she had other options other than striking the kid. I’m all for corporal punishment myself. Too many kids, today, don’t suffer from “low self-esteem”. Quite the contrary, they’re too damned arrogant and have no respect for authority. I get it.

  • Fulla-Boloney,
What part of “the MTA admits the officers were in error” don’t you understand?

  • The bottom line is that, yes, the police have a job to do, and sometimes a difficult job, BUT they must do their job within the confines of existing laws.

Being a citizen and knowing and standing up for your rights is also a tough job sometimes. Especially, when you’re surrounded by 4 or 5 officers and they keep telling you things about the law that you know, or might only be half sure, aren’t true.

It takes responsibility by both parties to know and understand the rights of citizens. In this specific case, the cops were wrong. Unfortunately, that’s becoming a little too common in America.

  • “The reward for conformity is that everyone likes you but yourself.” And that pretty much sums up Friedman’s and the progressives mindset. They want to be liked so much by each other, they’re willing to throw their fellow citizens, their liberty, their freedom, and their future existence out the window and under the bus. To them, capitulation = strength. They can’t understand a truly strong figure like Netanyahu, like they couldn’t understand Churchill in the 1930s.

  • Tom, Obama didn’t come to him and request anything, he dictated a return to the ‘67 borders! That’s the progressive way- “We know what’s best for you. Now, do it!”

  • …all the mohels will be unemployed.

“It’s a dangerous thing to be right, when your government is wrong.” Can’t remember who said it, but it’s becoming more true every day.

  • You could even make the case that SF is causing higher unemployment- a

  • @NICK84
“Really? Aren’t they trying to let individuals make a choice? People are still allowed to choose for themselves at age 18. Why should parents get to make cosmetically altering decisions for their babies? Should I be allowed to tattoo my baby if my religion dictates that I must?”

Nick, do they extend the same right to choose to on keep living to those same babies in the womb? That would be the logical extension of your argument. But, you and they don’t. It’s fine to mutilate the ENTIRE body and suck it out in hose when the parent chooses, but don’t you dare touch those foreskins! How terrible that would be!

Liberalism IS a mental disorder, brought on and exacerbated by a spiritual one.
