  • No Congressman Moron…you are the one riding the ship…pandering to your base. What an embarrassment… he shows up to address a group of citizens, so drunk he could not hardly stand up, and instead of addressing the issue at hand, he is telling off color and rude jokes. The City of Alexandria did the right thing…they got rid of him. Yes, I am a constituent, and not very well represented one at that.

  • It sure is funny (NOT) that with the GOP candidates, we know everything…and most likely the color of the drawers they wear to the debates. BUT, we do not even know who the sitting President really is. We only know what HE has told us. Why don’t WE know. who Obama is? The clues are in his books, but nobody ever followed up…not ONE question was asked about his background. Did he really attend Columbia? Did he graduate? How about “giving up” law license? What kind of cases did he litigate? What was his litigation history? How and why did a Harvard Law graduate end up being a community organizer? Why is all his “records” sealed? Where are all those who knew him not coming forward, even with positive comments?

Very simple questions…that were never asked.

  • Amend!

  • Think some people here are missing a couple MAJOR points… 1)The article stated that they were not clocking out and back in…that my friends is stealing from their employer. They were AWOL.They were getting paid while absent from their job. Steal = “get fired”. Those that did clock in and out were reinstated. 2) The article also stated that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission had reached a settlement with the company. It seems the agreement was for them to clock out. 3) The real kicker seems to be that they were not returning to work in a timely manner…more stealing.

It seems to me the old saying “an honest days work for an honest wage” does not apply to them…at least not in their minds. Hertz stick to your guns….fight this all the way.

  • I belong to a credit union that was started for “general” county employees. The school board had their own credit union at the time. Over time, the school board CU folded into the “general” employees CU. Then the local hospital credit union was taken over by our CU. I was an alternate to the “credit” committee. We saw a spike in problem accounts every time another credit union merged with us. There were very few “repros” of vehicles when it was only county employees. When we started accepting other credit unions and expanding our repros spiked. In fact, they had a “tent” sale of repro vehicles. Most people were upside down on their vehicles and the CU was not selling them for book value…but for outstanding loan value.

Now the credit union is open to the public..anyone can join. Very hard to get a loan now… and if you do, very very few get the lowest published loan rate. Interest rates on CD’s, Money Markets and share accounts are the lowest in the area. A regional bank two doors down from the CU beats the CU CD rate by almost 2 points. I was in the CU today and asked the manager did he survive the influx of the money moving… his reply was “slight increase over a normal day…” And that is one of the largest CU’s in our area.

  • Rev Claver had Bashir on the ropes…and Bashir did what good libs always do…over talked him and ended the interview. Here is a longer clip of the “interview”. Check out Bashir’s body languish (woops, language…ummm both seem correct).

  • Geithner Warns Banks: We Will ‘Prevail’ Over You

    In reply to Meyvn.

That is exactly what I will do! Really want to put a knot in their knickers…start using checks again. Purchase your checks from an outside source, a lot cheaper (CostCo, BJ’s, Staples, Office Depot, Delux Checks, etc). Processing “checks” still costs the bank a lot more then using a debit/check card.

To all those upset with the “overdraft” fees….. do not overdraft! That plain and simple.

  • Here is another tid-bit…He could also be charged with damaging Government property…HE is government property and his will full act, caused an injury to himself. Another charge could be “conduct unbecoming”….I say these in tongue and cheek, but they have been used in the past.

I truly believe the Military is taking their time in this case in order to dot all the “i” and cross all the “T” and build an airtight case.

To make everyone feel better….he pays for his meals when in the brig …woops stockade.

  • Cold War Vet – you are correct. Most people do not understand Military Courts and the UCMJ. Yes, he still is a serving Officer, and as such receives his salary and benefits, until he is convicted by a CM and that court reduces his rank and can forfeit his pay and allowances plus a fine, confinement in a Military prison, or death. A Military Court Martial does not have the same burden of proof required as a Civil Court nor the legal rules. There is no such thing in the Military Courts as double jeopardy. He can be found guilty and sentenced. He then can be tried in Federal Court (crime committed on Federal property) or in a civilian court for the same offense. This happens all the time, a Military member can face a CM; be reduced in rank/grade, forfeit pay, serve time, be dis-honorably discharged and face a civilian court on the same charges.
