  • To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing that would prevent Matt from sending in half of everything he earns above any designated amount to the US Treasury. If he feels so strong about that issue, has he done so? Probably not. And his circle of aquaintences that are in the same boat probably have not done so either. And I would bet that he has an accountant that spends quite a lot of time digging for deductions, exemptions, and/or credits to reduce Mr. Damon’s tax liability.
Perhaps Matt should devote his efforts to things that he knows, like reading lines written by others, and less time to things which he is obviously deficient.

  • The Daily Caller website had quite an interesting, and enlightening, piece on Rep. Jackson-Lee. She is my vote for Hypocrite of the Year. Can’t imagine a more pompous example of an anti-racist racist.

  • The Strategic Oil Reserves have about a 38 day supply. There is no way that such a short supply could keep us from economic ruin if oil goes much higher than it is now, much less $200 per barrel. What we need now is immediate word that drilling permits will be issued. And we need to begin drilling NOW. Sure, it would be nice if we also had renewable energy sources, but they will take time and technology, not to mention the costs. We have oil reserves that are known that we could tap NOW, which would save us in the near term, until we can develop alternatives. This is a national security issue. Our President MUST put the country’s interest first. So far, he has failed us. But he can redeem himself if he does what is needed to protect us from the impact of foreign oil uncertainty. Maybe we should also remove oil from the commodity trading. That would remove speculation and allow the supply/demand system to work.

  • A new report from the left-leaning Center for Public Integrity (CPI) shows union bosses would stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal salaries.. The new CPI report calls into question union bosses’ and Democratic lawmakers’ true motives in those states, showing that they’re possibly more concerned about losing revenue and personal salary than they are with collective bargaining rights. For more info on this go to the Daily Caller

  • They refused to leave the business establishment when told to do so by the owner, and then pushed and shoved employees yet no charges were filed? Sounds like they got away with assault.

  • I always thought that the Department of Justice was to represent ALL the American people, not just the Attorney General’s people.

  • Saw a report that was used to justify “man-made climate change” where they said the rise of the Roman Empire was due to global warming…and we all read about the massive carbon footprint of the Romans (heavy industry and CO2 spewing transportation infrastructure). It is pathetic that they have to grasp at such straws to “prove” the need for action to stop the changes that have been occurring on a cyclic basis for millennia without human causation. Perhaps someday they will pull their heads out of whosever rear they’re in and the light of reason will prevail. Either that or the “in crowd” will move on to a new topic.

  • And to think I thought Dems considered the 3 branches to be the Executive, The Regulators, and The Schumer. All the rest are inconsequential to them.

  • I will be for everyone having the same as everyone else just as soon as the rich progressives and rich liberals give away all their riches to the rest of us. But unless they start doing that soon, they can kiss my capitalist conservative rear. I have always been amazed that the very ones who are in favor of “redistributing wealth” seem to hoard their own money.

  • I realize that it has no bearing on the matter, but didn’t Rahm have to amend his state tax returns AFTER he decided to run for office? If I remember correctly, he had listed himself as a “part-time resident” on the forms as he filed them, but amended the status after leaving the White House job.
