  • And, I thought I was the only one that thinks Smith is a liberal correspondent trying to be an op-ed show host.

  • Over sampling means the base is larger. The larger the base, the smaller the percentage compared to the other samples. I have to admit the questions were simple; had to be for me to answer all of them. I for one will not take the surveys. I get several calls a night and screen them out. I believe they continued to sample Fox viewers until they got the results they wanted.

  • I did not have the GI Bill when I separated from the service until “67” when the bill was passed by congress to cover the Vietnam Vets. I had to make a personal loan from the bank
@ regular bank rates at that time. I borrowed only the amount that I needed and worked two part time jobs for the rest. I paid the loan off in five years after landing a permanent job.. My son on the other hand had all expenses paid plus worked as a graduate assistant and part time at a retail store and still got a cheap student loan through the student aid office. He is paying the loan off at a very low interest rate and monthly payment that will be paid off in 30 years. It was too easy for him to borrow the money that he really did not need for a yr and a half to earn a MBA.He will pay that loan off. But, just think of students borrowing more money than they need that will never pay it off.

  • My complaint is the media continues to identify Democrat officials Democratic. There is no political party called Democratic, it is the Democrat Party and they sure as hell aren’t Democratic. The Union speaker asked the dully elected Republican councilmen to resign so there can not be an exchange of ideas to improve the community, only the socialist view of more government/union control of the city. The community where I reside has privatised city services. We had a few problems, that were solved, when we first went to privatised services. The system works great now. However, you can never take politics out of government regardless of the form.

  • I got married many many yrs ago. I didn’t have a job so I enlisted in the Air Force. My wife worked for about two yrs before we had our first daughter; then she quit working outside the home and became a stay at home mom. We decided that before we married and we had to live within our means. I surely did not have the means to live well on an E-4 wages in 1960. She continued working inside the home raising 4 children, after I was released from active duty, while I earned college degrees; working to support the family, and establishing a business; providing for the family so my kids could have a better life. She truly worked 24/7, harder than if she worked outside the home. I traveled the southeastern part of the U.S. leaving her alone many days&nights to handle maintaining the home and the children’s education/medical needs. Stay at home moms work very hard with long hours. Our partnership has produced many rewards and blessings. It was tough in the beginning but I would not have it any other way. I have a ton of respect for my wife and Mrs. Romney.

  • The myth that 50% of Americans do not pay taxes. Home owners, business owners, and industries pay property taxes, sales taxes, utility taxes, energy taxes (gasoline taxes), entertainment taxes, and more taxes; property taxes only tax deducted from individual Federal Tax return. I prefer paying local and state taxes deducted from fed’s return rather than pay feds a $1.00 and get $0.20 back in the form of a fed handout. The people have control over state and local government than on the fed level. All talk about the Buffet Rule and the fact he receives his income from investments leaves out the fact he probably receives some income tax free; investments in tax free municipal bonds. I don’t know if this is true but following his investment plan and tax bracket, it seems he would take advantage of that too. He is too smart not to take it. I hate paying taxes when the money is wasted.

  • George Zimmerman Charged With Murder

    In reply to LuigiMucci.

I think this is good; Zimmerman can go into protective custody so the crazies can’t get to him. I feel that he will get a fair trial. He must have been close when they were ready to make their announcement. Let the facts decide his guilt not the idiots in street.

  • LSU vs Tulane has always been a hot rivalry. I don’t remember a game where the stands emptied onto the field to fight but do remember some games where the fans tore down metal goal post after a win against different teams. My son in law helped wield a couple of them back together. LSU/Tulane discontinued playing each other because Tulane would get blown away. Graduates from the two schools would challenge each other based on the winning score and the loser would have to put on a ridiculous costume in their school colors while pushing the winner in a wheelbarrow down a busy street for all to see .. etc.

  • My son was a high school football player and I told him, from my experience, that if a fight broke out on the field, do not take off your head gear. As it happened, his team was playing a very hot contested game against a team from south Louisiana. An opposing player punched one of our running backs that emptied both benches. I just watched while they fought and parents from both sides emptied the stands. The parents did not join the ruckus, they were pulling their boys apart trying to stop the fight. The parents were successful and the game continued. To tell the truth, it added a little more excitement to the game. The teams did not attack the refs nor the coaches. The parents were needed to pull 44 players apart, 6 or 8 people could not have done it alone. No one got hurt because of all the gear the players wear. I don’t remeber which team won, however, I do remember that the parents did not attack the kids, the officials, nor the coaches. This vid is unbelievable.

  • I will tell you one thing. They would never have done any of that in New Orleans. I have seen the NOPD in riot control during Mardi Gras. They will hit you first and ask questions later.
