  • Amazing he was able to curve those bullets to kill the rubber chicken behind him.

  • Sadder: reading the story when you don’t want to, then ******* and moaning about it.

  • Yet I’ll bet you can find the Marilyn Manson – Mechanical Animals cover in multiple places on facebook.

My God that ad sucks. At least the Demon Sheep ad, all the Cain ads, etc had something strangely captivating about them. This was just bad. Come to think of it I can’t recall any Democrat ads that were anything beyond the obligatory menacing voice and static imagery. Hope they keep it that way.

  • That’s ok, I’m green.

  • I was going to ask the exact question Happy, and from the same agnostic perspective. I really just don’t understand why the mere existence of a cross on a hill can inspire so much anger. To people who don’t believe is it not just put there to honor a fallen troop, for instance? Or, even simpler, just two pieces of wood on a hill. You can find crosses covering entire cemeteries on–GASP–public land, is this not also an affront to such vehement atheists? What if a family member has to be buried in a nearby plot?
I just find it much more offensive to be told what I shouldn‘t believe under penalty of ridicule and condescension as opposed to dealing with what used to be regular visits from Jehovah’s Witnesses, for example. At least in the latter cases the conversation always remained civil, whereas in the former I always felt like I was being “anti-preached” to both on religion and politics. Politics always seems to be the actual subject, anyway.

  • Jon, story aside – the site is really starting to need copy editors. I know I’m a bit picky when it comes to grammar and usage, but spell check will be the death of the language.
“…on the doc it as the show’s…” Docket?
Oh, and the constant misuse of “a” and “of” bracketing the word “myriad,” yikes.
I know it’s equally sad that I feel the need to point it out, but it’s as jarring as blatant product placement in television shows–here’s to you, Bones. I may need to end this minor rant before delving into the eating and drinking sound effects used in commercials at high volumes. By the way, if anyone who worked on the Magic Mesh ad is reading this: I hate you.
Heh, I tried so hard to stop writing in the middle of that :)
(I wander if their are any grammer an speelin erars in this coment)

  • Nah, I beg to differ on that one for the reason that I don’t consider math when writing music, but math can be used to analyze or interpret it. Yes, you can use math to do it, but if you adhere strictly to mathematical rules while writing you’ll end up with something that sounds robotic and in most cases unappealing – MS Songsmith would be a possible example here along with most pre-nintendo video game music.
The two areas where math is completely completely relevant are in tuning (A2=110hz A3=220hz A4=440hz, etc) and rhythm/meter, but again, if you want it to sound good you’re better off not quantizing everything right into that rhythmical pocket–even when making music on the computer.

  • A good friend of mine’s little sister had treacher-collins syndrome. This was like looking at her in the photos, so startling is the similarity. She was a very smart, cool girl. Lost her 2 years ago at–I think 21.

  • I’d wondered what happened to Grimace, and had no idea Trashheap from Fraggle Rock was still around.
