  • Yeah, the schools here are pathetic, too. My child is very advanced and the school actually complains that it is harder because the teachers would have to prepare a special curriculum for her to actually learn anything there. They claim they don’t have time “because there’s just so many kids”. Pathetic.

I’m giving them until the end of the month to have a single day of dealing with the “I’m the genius educator, you’re just the idiot “Homer Simpson” parent. I know what is best for your chld” attitude. Then we’re homeschooling. In Washington state you can go to OSPI.com to get the GLE’s (grade level expectations) and teach your child at home and know exactly where they fall within your state’s grade level scheming. I homeschooled using this over the summer and had great results!

The school actually has a rule that you can’t wear your coat in the building because it can make a rustling sound when you walk in your classroom or the halls. Yet, when my daughter went to a friend’s house after school one day, no one even checked the other mom’s ID or if my daughter had a note to leave with her or anything. The school’s excuse? “There are just so many kids”. Yeah, coat noise is much more important than a child being abducted. And I’m the idiot?

  • Wow, dangly’s got too much time on his hands, or more likely just one hand. Anyways, the schools are totally crappy where I live. My child is very advanced and her teachers and principal are literally making excuses like, “There are just so many kids, we can’t keep track of them all and teach them each where they are at”. How freaking sad is that? I‘m giving the school until the end of the month to have a single day that doesn’t infuriate me, then we’re homeschooling! In Washington state go to OSPI.com for the state’s grade level expectations (GLE’s). If I can do it, any parent can!
