  • There are many comments I could make about this article, video and settlement. I’ll stick to those as an endocrinologist who has had patients go through similar episodes. Aside from the “late cop” who appears to be kicking the man in the head or shoulder (can‘t tell and frankly the force didn’t appear to be that much-not justifying it just trying to be objective) I think the cops handled this really well. If you haven’t witnessed it, the adrenalin hormone response that a human being can generate at any age can be incredible and frightening. The fact that several large cops were needed to subdue the man doesn’t surprise me at all. In fact, the more the better because less individual force is needed to subdue therefor causing less harm when done properly (one cope beating a man down with a night stick vs. several overpowering by limb control and weight). You can’t easily differentiate hypoglycemia, stoned, or stroke in many cases even among those with years of experience. What we don’t know about this case is what kind of compliance did he have with his medical regimen. Did he check blood sugars frequently and especially before driving? Was he taking his insulin correctly or “dosing blind and driving” like some do. Consider how the man became hypoglycemic. It may have been an accident that occurred in spite of the best care but in my experience these things happen when patients aren’t taking the best care. I think an apology would have been adequate.

  • I’m tempted to file suit every time I see a picture of Woodrow Wilson, T.R. or FDR in a public building. Yeah, they may just be there for historical reasons but the progressive ideas that they represent frighten me. I don‘t want to be reminded that there are people around me who might have a difference of opinion and I don’t think my government should openly display icons of hatred against people like me who believe in small government and individual rights.

  • I agree. In fact I would say that unless you are a combat veteran (and I’m not) you can’t truly understand the motivation behind why they did this. Personally I don’t have an issue with it. My only wish is these young men come home safe and sound. If I ever have the misfortune of dodging bullets in a foreign land and surviving I might have an opinion that counts.

  • Wow! Only $250 so I don’t have to reach into my pocket and get my iPhone out to look at the screen! Instead of having to hold my hand up to my face I can talk into the little brick perched on my wrist. LOL!

Okay folks, I‘d have to describe myself as a long term consumer electronics and gadget addict but I don’t see myself getting one of these. When It looks like a TAG or “Rollie” and operates independently with a virtual screen emitter I’ll get excited. Till then I’ll make the effort to reach in my pocket ;-)

  • She reminds me a little of Dominique Francon… I always thought she was a nutter too though.

  • So, if I called him a black man, that would be a lie too? I agree with Rev. Wright that controversial is not a proper adjective to describe him. I think hypocrite, grand stander, megalomaniac, white people hater, Christianity perverter or simply loud mouth jack ass would all be more appropriate. It continues to make me sick hearing these “Christian” ministers give homilies that do nothing to glorify God or Jesus Christ but glorify themselves. It makes me equally ill that the media continues to refer to these creeps as leaders of Christian Churches. If people like Wright and the head of the Black Panthers want fewer white people to be “racist” maybe they should stop calling all of us racist to begin with.

  • @Moncine Dean is a career politician. As someone who has attended medical school (as well as completing six additional years of specialty training) I can tell your argument holds no weight. I can’t tell if your statement is sarcasm or not so forgive me if I misinterpreted what you said. All of the statements in this video are wrong. He is using a classic propaganda tactic of stating the known evils of his agenda as the agenda of his opponents. The Tea Party is much more diverse than what he claims and has no hate or racism agenda. They also aren‘t about telling people what they can and can’t do. In fact they are just the opposite. They are about smaller government and LESS intrusion into our private lives by the government. Just because many share similar values doesn’t mean they want ALL other Americans to walk and talk like they do. That is a completely fabricated notion meant to demonize these people. The Tea Party is all about Freedom for the individual. Dean and his ilk is all about freedom for the government “elites” to determine what is right and wrong and what people should do.

  • Sharpton can’t even “follow the leader” and reiterate what Obama said, “political rhetoric didn’t cause this” he’s got to continue trying to establish his own voice against the RIGHT.

  • Nice T-Shirts… political vultures.
