  • EXACTLY! This Stone kid needs to read the Qur’an and Hadith before he says something as demonstrably false as Allah is the same God as the Father. They are not: they are polar opposites of each other.

  • They have no rights at all. They can only have “privileges” – and even then, only so long as the govt. allows them. When the govt. decides they have no more rights, they will have no RATIONAL grounds upon which to object.

  • By the standard the atheists have set (any religion in the public square is the govt. showing favoritism), then they have used the govt. to FORCE their faith on those who DO believe in God. Isn’t that the exact thing that the 1st Amendment was designed to prevent: forcing others to act against their conscience?

It would seem to me the atheists have established their FAITH as the “official, govt.-endorsed RELIGION.” And make no mistake, atheism meets all the requirements of a religion, and the Supreme Court has ruled it as such. So this ruling should actually be struck down as it merely swaps this supposed govt. endorsement of one religion (Christianity) for another (atheism).

  • RIP CURL,

You must not be up to speed on your physics. There are some 322 known constants that have been identified so far. ALL of them must have the exact values they happen to have for human life to exist. This equates to 10 to the 322 power. The statistical chance of 0 is only 10 to the 50th power. You cite what you observe, but you show no understanding of those observations. You shouldn’t do that – it is irrational. There is yet another thing you mentioned that relates to the issue at hand: DNA. I like Dawkins and the evolutionists. I wonder, do you suppose that ANY of them have ever stopped to wonder at the complexity of the code in DNA? If we received a simple * * * – - – * * * from space, Dawkins I bet you and Dawkins would proclaim it proof of intelligent life. Yet you see the code in DNA and declare it a random accident. Do you ever stop to think that, for life to exist as it does, part of that “random accident” involves self-repair? And do you understand what that means for the THEORY of “evolution?” There is a reason that we have never seen a dog turn in to a cat. I laugh as those who deny God and claim science for their reason when science tells us that there MUST be a Creator. I hope you come to understand the necessity of wisdom to guide your knowledge. If you do, you might find you see things differently.

  • QPWillie,

If Leperus thinks Christians have a “pushy” way of “recruiting,” how do you think he is going to like that of Islam?

  • AxelP,

EXCELLENT 2 posts! You not only “get it,“ you also explained what the founders meant by ”pursuit of happiness:” not the ability to do whatever we want, but the ability to live a righteous life, a life that brings real inner happiness through living according to Natural Law.

    WELL DONE! And thank you.

  • Reyn,

Mythical? Do you realize that there can be no such thing as morality” without the existence of a Creator? For ANYTHING to be right/wrong implies there is a universal law governing such conceptions. But no one watches a plant grow and decided it is good or evil, or makes a moral judgment about a lion eating a zebra. These are just facts of nature. Well, if there is no Creator, then there can be no more judgment about human action than there is for the actions of the animals or plants. Even heavenly bodies obey natural law. So the idea that God is a myth betrays your denial of reality. This is not a healthy attitude to have, but you are free to chose your path.

  • No absolutism? Then explain how this statement can be falsified:

“Something either is, or it is not.”

Personally, I think it is the vanity of man that makes us search for some escape from the FACT that there ARE absolutes in this world. That is what the concurrent thought “I think, therefore I am” is all about.

    :-)

  • @ K Chad

Tactics and choice of battle field often help a great deal, and CAN provide an edge over numbers, but this is applies to a battle, NOT a war. Check the results of your history against this yard stick again. Your statements will not hold up so well.
ALL of your examples fall under this analysis. WAR, my friend, not single battles or duels.

  • Clettinger is correct: we ONLY beat the Germans because we were able to out-produce them. Yes, we had some excellent fighters, but the Germans actually produced the best piston engined aircraft of WW II, most people just don’t know about it because fewer than a dozen or so ever got into combat (look up the Ta 152H). It was a match for ANYTHING the allies were flying. Also, the top 50 highest scoring aces of WW II were GERMAN! So their pilot quality was also high, there were just too few of them.

Look, this is a marvel of technology, but it simply does NOT do what Lockheed and the military claim it does because it is NEVER 100% mission capable for more than a few hours. These things are hanger queens and “gripe’ generators. PLEASE, BLAZE, LISTEN TO ME!!! Look in to the F-22 and F-35. The USAF would be better served building a new fleet of silent eagles. And we can have 4 TIMES as many jets that work for the same or less money than this F-35.
