  • Jaxy – read Atlas Shrugged, you’ll get the reference. Atlas, carrying the weight of an un appreciative world. What would you tell him to do? “Shrug”

  • captain kook – you’ve obviously not read the book. I JUST finished it and nowhere in the book does Galt or his associates sabotage bridges and railroads – they just withdrew their services to repair and maintain them leaving that to the politicians and masses that throughout history have vilified the productive. In his radio address, his comments were that the parasites will die not because they asked Galt and the producers to pay but because those parasites will not stand up and take charge of their lives and become productive, refusing to think and believe in the magnificence of man and their own abilities. Yes, Rand dismisses religion as well as collectives (collective salvation) – the mystics of the spirit and the mystics of muscle – but as a statement on the heroic stature of man and the proper principles for the structure of a just and noble society, her book is incredibly well written. I submit that you can see the proof of her criticism of statism and central control in the economic meltdown the world is now experiencing. If you refuse to engage your mind, figure out a way to be productive to the betterment of us all, and take charge of your own life, don’t expect me to help you. Because, ultimately, I cannot. Regardless of how much of the product of my own industriousness you steal from me.

  • “The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and tyrants.” We’ve got the President ignoring the restraints of the Constitution and the Law and the Congress enabling him to do so; bureaucrats by the multitude regulating every aspect our society and marketplace placing onerous burdens on business and the free association of men; a Gallup poll showing that fully 47% of the people agreeing that it is the government’s role to “more equitably” redistribute the earned wealth of the industrious to the indolent, who are the means by which these tyrants continue to be elected… this Nation will not be peacefully returned to her former Glory. Thomas Jefferson knew the heart of the tyrant and the remedy for his evil schemes…

  • Let’s congratulate our brave men and women of our armed forces AND BRING THEM HOME FROM THAT HELL HOLE. Job well done!

  • “voted for the Bush tax cuts that were unpaid for” – just like his line “spending in the tax code”, these communists just ignore the fact that a man’s earnings ARE NOT THEIR MONEY!

  • It is staggering to realize that this woman represents the vast majority of the people elected to office in this country and hold bureaucratic government jobs. She’s an idiot without even the most basic understanding of economics, logic or debate. She may as well have said to Neal “don’t confuse me with the facts”. That our elected “Tea Party Representatives” caved and signed on to last week’s budget deal for a paltry 38 billion dollar cut is LUDICROUS. The Republicans control the house. They can force the administration to cut spending, all they have to do is grow a spine. Let the damn government shut down, it would be preferable. Frankly, in my view, any vote by any member of Congress to raise the debt ceiling will be an act of TREASON! The Republic will fail under the crushing burden of any more debt. It will probably fail anyway from the level of debt we now have. I called my Rep today and told them just that, that to vote to increase the debt ceiling, whether or not it is accompanied by a BBA, would be the act of a traitor. We the People control the power in this country. So I ask you, as you all are here railing on about this disgustingly out of control “government” we find ourselves with, how many of you are dutifully preparing your taxes? As I see it, if you are, at this point, voluntarily going along with their game, you are just as guilty of the destruction of this country as these crooked politicians. Simply stop abiding by their game – they have lost ALL credibility. Make them put us all in jail. TAX REVOLT. If We the People do not draw a line in the sand now, all is lost. It may well be anyway. I’ve never been more disgusted…

  • Even if the facts aren’t a scam, the amount is. Seriously, they cut 38 bil from a 1.5 tril deficit? How does that make a difference? It doesn’t. Frankly, I’ve given up hope. The destruction of this once proud Nation is complete, we’re just waiting to auger into the ground. There will be blood in the streets as those who have lived on the public dole all their lives, lied to by these politicians that this wealth transfer is just and sustainable, come after what they think is their due after the government finally goes bankrupt, and / or the dollar collapses. This is just what the progressives want to have happen, but the final “joke” will be on them as the rarified world they thought they were going to inhabit, is destroyed too. They are fools for thinking that they can control the outcome of the chaos they are creating. It took millennia for mankind to develop the civilization that we enjoy today; it will be destroyed almost overnight and the world, or at least mankind in it, will be plunged back into a stone age existence for who knows how long. Those that will survive will have to decide whether they are willing to kill to do so…

  • Would anyone in the civilized world care a whit if all of those savages were incinerated and the whole country turned to glass? Our tolerance of these uncivilized savages that call themselves muslims is going to destroy us. I would rather every last one of their children perish in the flames than for harm to come to my son or the children of my friends at the hands of these animals. It WILL come down to them or us – the question is will we realize it before it is too late to affect the out come to our favor? Pull our troops out now and incinerate all of Afghanistan. Be done with it.

  • thanks, Briana, exactly my thoughts. Glenn, for the the incredible good investigation and analysis he does, demeans the import of his work with all the sophomoric antics all the time. Watching the interview, I had the distinct impression that Beck‘s ego wouldn’t let Jacob take the center stage on his show. The integral equation he was doing on the blackboard was probably not the best TV, but Beck put him up to it and should have had the courtesy to allow the lad to complete it. He was talking to the parents as if Jacob wasn’t even in the room. I was pretty disgusted at it myself, and I think Glenn, like I said, is doing phenomenal work as a watchman.

Also, to all of you hoping that Jacob can disprove the big bang theory for the glory of the Christian religion, what is the explosion of matter, time and space from nothing into the universe we inhabit IF NOT CREATION? In the beginning, GOD…. and nothing else. From Divine force of will – BOOM – all of Creation that we perceive and cannot perceive. Science proved the existence of God, for me, with the big bang theory. As if the wonder of this world was not already proof enough…

  • frankly, I’m not sure that corporations should be paying taxes. corporate taxes are just rolled into the cost of the goods / services and the end user never knows how much the government is taking out of the economy in total this way. the outrage of the cost of anything stops at the cost of the good / service provided by the business. if all taxes were paid at the end consumer level, everyone would know exactly how much government was costing without burying those costs in the price of goods and services. I’d like to see more discussion on this point
