Seven Reasons Why Buying an Electric Car Might Be a Terrible Idea
December 11, 2011 at 9:16pm
Companies and corporations will only buy electric trucks because they start with huge resources and can rotate trucks as they need to charge them given their short range. The initial cost is huge but it gets government commissars off their backs. Without government blackmail, it makes no sense. Unless, like “A Extremist,” you can buy and own 4 vehicles or hire a full time driver. When you factor in the resources and pollution required to manufacture batteries in China, ship them to Japan to install in cars, then in turn ship them around the world, the whole “green” argument falls apart.

If you wasted your $$ on not one, but 2 electric cars, you have $$ to burn and have at least 2 other petrol powered cars to actually use if you need to drive more than 15 miles one way. You have done this on the backs of the taxpayers and your local utility ratepayers. Congrats.

Add Brazil to that list, courtesy of Osamabama. He prevents American companies from drilling in productive areas and gives taxpayer $$ and drilling permits to Petrobras so we can buy our oil from them. Canada and the US are blessed with huge oil and gas reserves, and great people to develop them. He is destroying our energy industry and wishes to make us dependent on these 3rd world countries because, in his eyes, it is “unfair” that we have these resources. Just think-Osamabama vowed to destroy the coal industry, and he carried Pennsylvania in the last election. Who says Americans don’t have a death wish? Anyway, battery powered cars are a technological dead end for mass use. Smarten up.

The Obamabots and their allies (urban planners and Commissars) here in Southern California are working to restrict new housing development to within a short radius of a given “urban center.” Cars, as presently made, represent freedom. If they can regulate gasoline powered cars out of existence (as with the new CAFE standards of 52.5 mpg), and limit the distance of people’s commutes(theoretically) and then they make electric cars more attractive. And voila! People are made dependent on “public transportation” and control. Due to the short range and problems of charging (who could take a long trip with a stop every 50 miles to “recharge” for 11 hours?) See British “Top Gear” episode where they drive a Nissan Leaf and a similar Renault model and the problems they encounter. Imagine the horror of getting into a moderate to serious fender-bender accident and having all that stored electricity in a damaged/compromised system waiting to be released by a driver or first responder coming upon the accident and touching or working on the car. Technologically, battery power is a dead end (except for certain niche applications) for automobiles. With Osamabama’s destruction of domestic energy production (wind turbines don’t provide enough juice to charge all the electric cars they envision) what it comes down to is control. We will have to look to government for mobility. End of freedom. Coming soon to a liberal Democrat-run city near you. Thanks, Osamabama!
University Professor Rips Military, College Republicans in Letter

He deserves worse. He will never let America or us alone. Never. Liberals never stop fighting, even with the collapse of the USSR. This professor and his Stalinist comrades never give up trying to remake America and destroying those who stand in their way. We need to expose and fight him and the vermin like him wherever they are.

Sadly, our colleges and universities love to hire creatures like him. Very few exceptions. Then try to backpedal when the ****storm comes down on them. Few so called “conservative” or non-liberal professors are treated as well. Universities create “women’s Studies,“ ”Peace Studies,“ ”African Studies,“ ”Gay/Lesbian Studies,” etc., wasting $$. This is the result of the “Long March Through the Institutions” undertaken by the hard left over the last several decades. Our once-great educational system is merely a string of Marxist re-education compounds. The system used to promote and pass on the American culture and notions of freedom and independence. My grade school days opened with the Pledge Of Allegiance and singing “My Country ‘Tis Of Thee.” Imagine, the mere display of our flag is now treated as “intolerant” and “hate speech.” We need to bend over for the small minority in our midst who hate us. It is impossible to relate to young people what has happened to our Nation. There are exceptions, but if it’s not something they can download on iTunes, they can’t relate. Except for starting private schools (see Hillsdale College) I see no way of getting power back from the Marxists’ hands of our public schools. This is the reason why so many brave, dedicated parents fight the battle against the union thugs and local city hall commissars to home school their children. It’s just that, without this backdrop, this turd would not be in his position.

To EngChina,
How bizarre that you equate private worker battles 80-100 years ago with public employees fat cats now. Public employee unions pour tens of millions of $$ into political campaigns, promoting higher taxes, more regulation, fighting freedom and private enterprise. But the most egregious is spending their tens of millions of $$ taken from members to elect ultraliberal politicians, who they then negotiate with for higher wages, better benefits, etc. This is one reason even FDR was opposed to this. The fact is, no children are being forced to work, no women are being chained to sewing machines and not one public employee is being forced to work 12 hour shifts if they don’t want to. The fact is, these union contracts are bleeding the local and State governments dry. California is a perfect example. The progressives have shut the water off to farmers, all but stopped oil drilling right off our coast, chased the aerospace industry out and made it impossible to even manufacture solar panels as a business in our once-great State. They have put out the welcome mat to multi generations of 3rd world poverty who are being subsidized and annihilated our once great school system. California is now a poor Venezuela with nice coastal views. As a former Democrat, I have watched the leaders of the party drag it so far to the left that everyone else, who used to be viewed as mainstream and sensible, look like the far right. They have destroyed my party and destroyed my once beautiful State.

To EncinoM- I’m guessing you are a neighbor of mine here behind the New Iron Curtain in Southern California. This once great State is totally controlled by public employee unions and lunatic leftists. The Aerospace industry (and just about every other industry) has been driven out, the water turned off to the farmers(now mile after mile of fallow land), the once-great educational system destroyed, taxpayers enslaved to pay for illegal aliens to be educated, medicated and incarcerated. But people like you won’t be happy until every person who disagrees with you or opposes you is destroyed. Power is all communists understand. Crush your enemies. This is California now.

This union thuggery in Wisconsin shows what happens when they sense any threat to their power. Here, in the People’s Republic of California, we are truly behind the New Iron Curtain. The waves of reform and freedom crashed on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas. All statewide office holders plus majorities in Senate and Assembly are progressive/liberal/Democrats. Plus, the people just voted to eliminate the one safeguard against economic tyranny and just did away with the 2/3 requirement vote to pass a State budget. They have shut the water off to a large part of the State farmers, pass higher taxes/fees every year, have destroyed a once-great educational system, all with public employee union help. The teachers, nurses, police, prison guards, and now firemen, er, firefighters. I used to respect them. You can see them march shoulder-to-shoulder with the Revolutionary Communist Party. They have difficult jobs but they are now just part of the progressive forces of darkness that have my State by the throat. This is the result of the Left’s Long March Through The Institutions that continues unabated. About all the freedom-loving people can do here is muster enough strength to fight occasional skirmishes. It may be too late for California, but it looks like there is life in most of the other States out there. Keep fighting, brothers and sisters.
