  • I certainly hope that Mr. Beck is rethinking his position on Immigration now that he appears to have realized that fear mongering and scapegoating is not the answer to winning over those who are thought to be traditional old time Democrats. If anything, Latinos are much more aligned with the Right on many issues, especially social issue. In fact even on economic issue where the GOP traditionally embraces the idea of rewarding hard work, where Democrats want to tax success. Glenn’s new brand of niceness needs to be expanded to the undocumented in this country and we need to have a little faith in our fellow man that when properly educated they will choose the right path which is lower taxes, smaller government, strong national defense, and respect for the sanctity of life, all values that Latinos hold near and dear to their hearts.

  • I liked it BQI.

  • This is my first post and I am here to hopefully influence many in the GOP to strongly consider changing the tone of the immigration debate to one of a more constructive dialogue that will hopefully lead to serious reform of our immigration laws. Calling this lady “Evil” is just plain wrong. I do not agree with her view point in any way at all and I don’t like that they force kids to listen to such obviously slighted opinions. Even with that, I still think we can discuss the issue without throwing destructive words around that do nothing to add to the debate. I’m sure this lady believes her cause is a nobel one, but does that make her evil?

If you are a conservative and hope to see the GOP grow it’s base, then you had better chart a different course, because the message that is being sent to Latino’s right now is that the GOP does not welcome them. The Latino population will comprise of about 25% of the US population by the year 2050 by most any demographic study you care to look at, and that is likely conservative. To alienate that large a number of future voters is akin to political suicide. We need to get serious NOW about changing the tone of this debate if we want any chance at being a viable party in the coming decades.
