  I would just like to point out that if this was a republican president being challenged on a law that we like that just barely squeaked through the congress we would all be screaming about unelected judicial activists playing fast and loose with the Constitution.

  I would just like to note that this was on the national news as one of those amusing pieces that networks use to fill up the last 5 minutes of air time. I can only imagine if this was Palin‘s or Bachman’s campaign bus, we would never hear the end of it. The funny thing is the Wildrose Party is where the tea party sympathizers congregate.

  This is exactly the kind of mean spirited behaviour I expect from partisans everywhere on the spectrum. Cliche as it is two wrongs don’t make a right. That unfortunatly is the partisan approach to life. Andrew said some cruel things about Kennedy so that makes it okay to say cruel things about Andrew. How does this further the discussion of anything? But then again partisans don’t know how to disagree without being disagreeable. Shame really…

  That is what really irks me. When people left or right say that a person who disagree’s with me is stupid. It is nothing but a cheap ad hominem thought terminating cliche designed to shut people up. The only time it is acceptable to call a person dumb for arguing with you is if they are arguing about something so basic that there is literally no debate possible such as “Plant’s need water to live“ ”2+2=4″ Any time you introduce complexity into the discussion this becomes a tool for getting your opponent to stop talking. Its pathetic and (thought terminating cliche alert) Standard Operating Procedure for lefty’s keep bleating and eventually conservatives get tired of spitting into the wind and they give up.

  Tom I must respectfully disagree with you. If conservatives and Republicans attempt to prosecute Obama for anything that he has done during his presidency it will set a precedent that frothing lefty types like Olberman or Pelosi will use to cow the next conservative president when he tries to do something controversial and bold. Watergate was criminal, lying to the Congress is criminal, stealing funds (not earmarking but outright stealing them) is criminal. Being an idiot who got a D- in Economics and whose policies have been massively unhelpful is not criminal and to use the impeachment weapon against Obama would be to hand the left a stick that they can beat us with for the next 100 years. (It would also throw gas on the Tea Party is Racist trope)

  There is nothing objectionable about this. Lets all stop the yelling and take three giant steps back and look critically at what Mr West said
  Everyone has to admit that evil though Goebells was he was a master when it came to manipulating information and the media to get Hitler’s message out and thats all politics really is, messages and advertising.

  The tea party’s message is that government ought to bugger off
  The Democratic Party believes in government solutions
  The Greens want to save the environment
  The Nazis wanted to kill all of the Jews

  When the right was questioning the health care bill and observing that Obama doesn’t seem to know what he is doing, rather than tackling the critisisms head on the Dems got the NYT to imply that if you don‘t support us you want people to die and you’re a racist for not liking Obama. Compare to what Goebells would have done: If you questioned whether invading Russia was really such a good idea given it has rarely ended well and Hitler isn’t getting people back to work fast enough Der Sturmer would scream that:
  “you hate the Reich and you hate the Reich because you’re a jew or communist or something you know what lets go with Jew Only Jews hate the Reich and since you hate the Reich you must be a Jew!!!” *gasps for breath*

  I think what I’m trying to say is that his characterization is not far off.
