  Okay, so I watched this for the comic value, but couldn’t stand it past about 25 seconds. The sighing, the ‘pause for effect’ the camera switches… You should all be embarrassed. Or at least Glenn should, but he doesn‘t need to be embarrassed he’s too busy raking in your witless cash.

  What a fascinating legacy of responses my simple post brought forth. From someone misreading my login (Aubrey somehow became Audrey in their mind), to someone projecting their distaste with their wife onto me. It’s all very odd. In the end, here’s the story: Beck googles, does a show, then assigns some poor soul from UzBeckistan to wiki Stuart Chase and cut and paste their hastily gained knowledge (good thing wiki is open source or there would be some plagiarism going on) into a poorly written, intellectually bankrupt story. But that’s enough for you all, and suddenly a book written in 1942, (that’s 60 years ago friends),becomes the President’s road map. I would much prefer if you had referenced Frosts ‘The Road Less Traveled.’ In any case, what we have here is proof that P.T. Barnum‘s tried and true phrase continues to apply when it comes to the snake oil salesman’s fans.

  “…While most scientists reserve the term for verifiable principles…” So what you’re saying is that most scientists use the word theory to refer to proven ideas… like, say, gravity?

  Nice explanation of a theory. Now if we could only elevate the conversation beyond “My ancestors were not monkeys…” there might be the possibility of discussing acceptable scientific theory.
