University Study Determines Fox News Has Least-Informed National Audience Based on These Questions
May 24, 2012 at 9:15pm
Let me see if I get this correctly. The range of scores (according to their own numbers) is from 11% to 17% correct? So, any way you slice it, no media outlet is doing their job when the public gets way below 70% (which would be the minumum passing grade on an exam).
Tell me why is it they are so proud of this study?
CNN Calls Out Obama Campaign Over Romney Ad
May 16, 2012 at 7:38pm
What is happening? I don’t buy for a minute that CNN is turning over a new leaf. So, what is really going on?
Are they playing the “we’ll be overtly fair, while being submliminally biased”? Or are they just going to bring out something worse and endorse it later, and point to these examples of being “fair”?
Ron Paul Just Released a Big Statement — and Some are Saying It Means He‘s ’Out of the Race’
May 14, 2012 at 3:25pm
Is that really what he’s saying? I’m not sure. Paul is running a very different kind of campaign. He understands fiscal responsibility, so he’s not going to go into debt for his campaign. He obviously can’t out raise or outspend Romney.
He’s not going to be advertising and campaigning anymore in the traditional sense. But he’s asking all of his supporters in the states yet to vote to do stuff for him. I don‘t really think that’s going to work. Except…he’s cheating.
His strategy has been to get his supporters to act like they support Romney so they can get chosen as delegates. Then at the convention, he will have a lot more delegates than is believed. We’ll see if those double agents are enough to swing the nomination his way.
Delta Airlines Pulls Ads from ‘The Daily Show,’ Catholic League Claims Victory

As liberal shows go, Jon Stewart is about as fair as they come. His irreverence is a common occurrence. And I usually think he is funny–even when I disagree with him. But I will agree that this went to a new level. It was beyond acceptable. I don’t know why anyone laughed at it.
Is boycott the answer?
See the New Batman ‘The Dark Night Rises’ Trailer Everyone’s Talking About — Notice Any Occupy Themes?
May 1, 2012 at 12:13pm
I’m not sure. I find it odd that Nolan would add a major character that has no basis in the comics (John Blake–little Johnny Blake notwithstanding). Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks the part of Robin. But in the comics Azrael was who took over (for a short time).
Nolan is marketing this with the tagline “The Legend ENDS”. So, why is the title “Dark Knight RISES”? I believe someone else will rise to take the mantle as Wayne steps down or possibly dies.
There are too many markers that parallel the comic storyline to ignore the passing the mantle as a possible plot element. That‘s all I’m saying.

While I don’t appreciate your disparaging language, I do agree with your point. I don’t see why anyone would boycott this film over a “common theme”. It is very much in line with the Batman comic storyline, with some surprises thrown in to keep it exciting.
Are we going to boycott DC comics next?

And, the article didn’t say it was pro-occupy or anything of he sort. It simply noticed some common themes. Who didn’t? They were there in the first trailer if anyone was paying attention.

This is why I believe the story will follow the Bane storyline from the comics. We saw Wayne defeated with Bane gloating over him. So, we can probably assume it is post-broken-back.
My prediction: I believe this new character, John Blake, will become an amalgam of Robin & Azrael. He will be the one to take up the mantle of the Batman after Wayne becomes paralyzed.
Batman (Wayne) did not realize Bane’s mask was his achilles heel. But the new hero (Batman/Blake?) will be able to remove the mask, thus debilitating Bane and ultimately defeating him.
