  • I think the elderly couple should sue spike lee for “inducing panic”.

  • Christianity is NOT a religion. It is a philosophy and theology. You feel threatned by a baby laying in a manger?

  • Please be educated folks. The article referenced Pope Paul IV, so here is a great site on the facts of taking the pill to solve everything, including ACNE – its a hoax folks. http://www.popepaulvi.com/. Also so subjects on Theology of the Body.

  • I think it’s a great idea for a 9% sales tax, that way the OWS folks all have some skin in the game for a change. Maybe then they will care about where the tax dollars go to instead of all the needless entitlements.

  • @sbenton,

I wrote an email to Levi’s and was given a response that same day (I was surprised). Here is their response: Thank you for sharing your feedback on our new marketing campaign. The Levi’s Go Forth marketing campaign is intended to reflect a pioneering spirit, with a hopeful and optimistic sense of possibility. We are sorry if you were offended by some of the images. We appreciate your point of view and take all feedback into careful consideration. If there’s anything else we can help you with, be sure to email us back or give us a call at 1-800-USA-LEVI Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 4:30pm Pacific Time. Thanks again, Samantha Levi Strauss & Co Consumer Relations.

  • “No incentives for being healthy, for being involved in your healthcare, for taking care of yourself,” There, I cut/pasted again, because obviously union bosses don’t understand. Health Care is not the responsibility of the company. If you want health care, you pay for it. Companies are there to make profit – pure and simple. Through that profit, workers EARN a living wage and then it is through the freedom of that worker to spend their money as they wish. If they mismanage their funds, then so be it. If they suffer as a result of their mismanagement then chalk it up to another “learning experience” and they again have the freedom to to be self-reliant and turn things around.

    Great Point! Exactly

John 20:22-23 “Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive peoples sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven”. Jesus breathed on the apostles – the first priests, in order to give them this power to forgive sins – the prayer of absolution.

Mathew 18:18 “And so I tell you: what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven”. Jesus gave this command to his Apostles – the first priests and thus through apostolic succession til today, priests offer the wonderful gift of reconciliation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

What happens when a catholic sins in between confessions? I reflect daily on what I have done. I make it a habit to confess my sins weekly. I want to be ever mindful of the faults that I have. Small sins may lead to bigger ones.

Why does the Bible say that no man can forgive sins? James 5:14-16 “Is there anyone who is sick? He should send for the church elders (priests), who will pray for him and rub olive oil on him in the name of the Lord. This prayer made in faith will heal the sick person; the Lord will restore him to health, and the sins he has committed will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

Without the power of confession: one often can play mind games with themselves. “Am I forgiven”, “I think I am forgiven”, etc. etc. By announcing your sins to the priest and following the prayer of absolution – one hears this physically and therefore no ambiguity or misunderstanding takes place.

Even Sirach 4:26 indicates “Don’t be ashamed to confess your sins; there’s no point in trying to stop a river from flowing.”

Mathew 9:6 “I will prove to you, then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”
