  • CNN: Is the Tea Party ‘Over’?

    April 24, 2012 at 12:28pm

    Gee, word must not have made it to my city’s tea party since each monthly meeting seems to have more attendees than the prior month!

  • It looks like it was made with giant popsicle sticks!

  • Reminds me of the joke…A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl argued that in the Bible story Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher repeated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl then said, ‘Okay, when I get to heaven I will ask Jonah’. The teacher asked, ‘What if Jonah went to hell?’ The little girl paused for a moment and replied, ‘Well, then you ask him’.

  • @Randerson503 – remember the Big Bang is itself a theory, and has many holes. There is an alternate cosmology that resolves many of the problems of the Big Bang, and conforms with the days of Genesis! Here is a link to the first of 3 articles explaining it. It’s pretty technical but the authors do a good job of making it understandable for the layman:

  • @SovereignSoul – remember that God created time; he does not exist in time like you and I but outside of time. He can see all of time at once…what has happened, what is happening, what will happen. The free will part is that we still make the choice; He does not force us to choose differently. Another possibility is that there are multiple possible future times and He sees them all – so He knows all our possible futures but we still determine which possible future it will be.

    There are different Christian philosophies about free will and predestination, but the bottom line is this: Jesus Christ is our Creator and our Savior; He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father but by Him.

  • No, only one company makes the old OTC kind.

  • Just sent this to Capitol One, feel free to copy and re-use:

    Greetings;

    Please forward this email to the person responsible for your marketing campaigns.

    I am writing to express my concern with your use of Alec Baldwin as your spokesperson. While Mr. Baldwin is a talented actor and the commercials are amusing, Mr. Baldwin’s extremely public personal and political rants are quite offensive to many Americans. His latest attacks via Twitter on Michelle Malkin, former Vice-President Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, and all ‘right wingers’ in general, are egregious and should not be tolerated in someone who purports to represent your company. Presumably many of your customers – perhaps even a majority – are themselves, like me, ‘right wingers’ and will be as offended as I am.

    I hope that you will consider discontinuing Mr. Baldwin’s commercials and hiring a spokesperson who will not go out of his or her way to repel customers.

  • Anyone have a list of 30 Rock sponsors? I don’t want to support any companies that advertise on that show – and I certainly don’t want to watch it to find out who they are. :-)

  • It‘s a shame that a teacher doesn’t know what a Nazi really is. I hope he does not teach history.

  • In high school, I had a friend with epilepsy who had strange things happen with electrical devices. They would always eventually fail – wristwatches, stereos, you name it. So there could be *something* to it.
