Here’s What Five Years on Mars Looks Like
November 22, 2011 at 3:39am
You can add to that technological changes in furniture, beds, sheets, waste disposal, understanding of how metal reacts in near sub-zero tempuratures. Rubber technology, shielding technology, lasers, guidance systems…ya, totally wasted money =p.
Seriously, to call NASA a waste is to ignorance of the lowest order. Of all our government agencies not even the military has been as efficient in fund usage, groundbreaking, or as inspiring to the American populace as a whole let alone the wonderment of the world at our achievements.
It’s not perfect, and sure there’s waste, but NASA is pretty bloody efficient, and one of the least funded agencies for years.
Obama to Al Sharpton: ‘My Religious Faith’ Makes Me Believe Republicans Will Agree to Raise Taxes
November 22, 2011 at 3:21am
Well, to start with, doesn’t work that way. Faith doesn’t make you do anything. Obama should really learn to understand his own faith…you choose to believe what you believe, that is the freedom of will we are granted. Oh, wait, I forgot, he doesn‘t actually have faith until it’s popular.
E.U. Ruling: Water Does Not Prevent…Dehydration?
November 22, 2011 at 3:14am
You have to remember, there are a number of scientists who form a consensus that agrees fresh water reserves are drying up and soon we will have no fresh water anywhere. So people need to drink less water.
Then you take in the very fashionable viewpoint that we have far too many people on the planet, and we need to be slowly eradicated until we fit a proper number of people, small enough to progress on some level, too small to do any lasting damage to the planet.
Then you take Gaia worship, and the desire for power and resource hoarding of many of those in power (almost entirely in government positions) worldwide though the EU is a little over the deep end.
Then you take the fear of economic collapse which, if it happens, means trickling access to resources as government and private enterprises that run and ship, create and process said resources shut down. Now it could be all, it could be some.
And lo, we have this!
Honestly the insanity will never end. We’re the one species that plots its own destruction. Even if you replaced the EU bureaucrats with sane people, at some point insane and psychotic people will eventually return to power, especially given such insane policies are so fashionable in “intellectual” circles.
Manhattan Al Qaeda ‘Sympathizer’ Arrested by NYPD in Plot to Bomb Cops & Troops
November 20, 2011 at 9:53pm
Well it certainly is convenient for him. Could well be this is a real lone wolf and they were simply waiting for the opportunity pick him up. It of course works towards two ends. 1) What you stated, to give Bloomberg a boost, and 2) another reason to bypass more constitutional law for more freedom now or at some point in the future where they can string a series of events and “lone wolves”.
What bothers me is the lack of rhetoric recently about Tea Party = dangerous racists who will eventually go ballistic and shoot people in the streets with our guns in one hand, Holy text in the other. That can be attributed to many things but usually they figure the opposition is too small now to bother with, or they’re prepping for some new laws or new campaign to connect a bunch of “lone wolves” to the Tea Party, libertarians, or at least the conservative movement.

Allegedly ‘Drunk Businessman’ Goes Ballistic on Occupy Wall St. Protesters
November 19, 2011 at 4:27pm
Even besides the obviously piss poor and inconsistent acting (slurred then completely coherent speech, uncharacteristic with drunkeness, poor attempt at stumbling at two points, and the rest of the sequence the man has no issues with walking), there’s the key factor of no info being released on him. Leftist groups have a nasty habit of releasing personal information about a would-be attacker, or putting out flyers, posters, or something to the masses for someone to “get that guy.”
God, honestly, I‘m insulted they feel we’re this stupid. Oh right, it’s for the other masses of young sheep bleating in the background either wanting to go back home to Mommy, or those who have yet to join. Of course I can’t wait until Monday and this is covered by liberal media outlets enmasse.
Watch out for the labeling of drunk belligerent Tea Party people, and how we should pray he didn’t have a gun =p
Larry Elder Hammers Chris Matthews in Agonizing Interview: ‘I’m Sorry For Cutting You Off the Way You Cut Your Guests Off’
November 18, 2011 at 9:01pm
Maybe they’re all snakes, or secretly worship some snake cult underground, where they’re forced to speak like a snake? I mean the oldest and longest running cults worshiped snakes, or Gods typically represented as serpents or snakes. Who knows…
Eh, in all honesty I don’t know, I don’t hear that lisp from all of them, but thinking about it now, a good number do have a slight lisp. Strange coincidence?
The main thing is that while Larry did invite him obviously to attack him, Chris had it coming to him, and Larry was respectful and direct in his questions. Chris was evasive and defensive as usual, trying to bypass answering anything. Much like Beckel does on The Five, or whenever he shows up on Hannity.
It’s sad that Chris has to use the term Hatred to divert the conversation, and I don’t know whether he really believes it, or if he’s just using it to be diffusive and turn the tables on Elder. Larry handled it well, but not strong enough. Gotta love those tactics. Sometimes I wonder if some liberals, Chris included, hate life and everything in it, and assume that everyone else does to, much like those awful commercials that celebrate infidelity and unhappy marriages as though it’s an absolute.
Gloria Cain on Sharon Bialek: ‘Now That One I Totally Don’t Believe’
November 14, 2011 at 11:55pm
Sometimes it takes awhile. I‘ve had one comment that didn’t post for an hour, and in the same thread another comment posted immediately. Sometimes data gets hung up in the queue or goes into the information black hole, then is reretrieved because a copy existed…or the packet is traveling a different longer route for one post, and it’s been forced to hang in the balance on other servers with extreme traffic, or it’s held up in another queue in their own system while other traffic is let in first due to any number of reasons.
Not worth contemplating half the time.
‘I Am Innocent’: Sandusky Tells Bob Costas ‘I Shouldn’t Have Showered With Those Kids’ (Updated With Audio)
November 14, 2011 at 11:45pm
There is no opinion in either story, so I don’t see the point in pointing fingers and placing blame where there is none.
That said, I would respect Scott Baker far more if he pointed out the known facts of the case thus far. Like how the original report was that the coach who caught him in the showers saw him sodomizing a young boy, along with the strings of allegations brought about so far, and the words of the kid the court is calling Victim No. 1, which would allow blaze readers to more uniformly and accurately assess by contrast what is more likely going on here. Granted, shock can cause people to see some things in a slightly different light than what they saw, but it runs in the same fashion as boasting, it becomes a more horrific act, or the terror, fear, or loathing (emotional connection) attributed to the one watching can alter perception slightly, but not to the point where you mistake sodomizing a young both with something else. Though it does chill to the bone the lack of effort put into catching this guy, and the fact that the coach who witnessed the event didn’t run in there with a crowbar to defend the kid…
However, going back to your point, I would chalk it more towards how each blogger deals individual with their posts. Scott runs the blaze, he posted this, and often enough he will copy-paste transcripts and post a video, without insights…could be due to the amount of work he does in running the site and Magazine. Now way to know beyond askin
What‘s the Top Secret ’Lab‘ Google Won’t Talk About?
November 14, 2011 at 4:44pm
I just reread Jurassic Park. One interesting point of view espoused by Crichton, through the character Ian Malcolm, and reiterated in the movie is that science is groundbreaking and violent, but no one ever asks if the direction taken is appropriate, proper, what damages will be incurred, how it will negatively impact a population. Simply because it is a new idea and that someone else might think of it and act on it first, our newest breed of scientists especially (or thinkers in this case), will simply act upon it, invent, create, search and destroy to be the first.
A car that drives you…what a way to teach responsibility, to remove the enjoyment of driving, and to make driving even more of a right and less of a privilege.
A robot to go to work for you? Reducing the physical capabilities of everyone, making us inherently weaker and less capable of self-sufficient behaviours. What next, chairs to control said robots that move around for us? We’ve done enough damage to health by Hoverround and other motorized wheel/chairs with baskets and control bars.
Dinner plate to a social network…just another tidbit of pointless information that people will love to read that cuts into personal productivity, let alone the people who view said pointless twitter feeds while at work.
Others have already tackled the Fridge. Hell, I’m 30, computer literate, programming literate, and I still prefer pen and paper notes.
