  • This is deja vue all over again. I watched from my Georgetown windows as the crazies blocked the bridges one day and 30,000 were arrested and held in the DC armory. I and my friends had long since dropped out of the so-called anti war movement, feeling we were being used. These are the crazies that woke up the silent majority to elect Richard Nixon.

  • I have watched just enough hearings on c-span to believe that redistribution of American industries to underdeveloped countries has been part of our foreign policy. Somebody decided that the iconic textile industry that literally started the industrial revollution in the US when an Englishman memorized plans for mills and introduced them to the colonies should be given to certain countries like Pakistan, even if it devestated a lot of local economies. Likewise steel should go to whomever in the name of helping poor countries. Let Pittsburg be damned. Note that, even though many American advocate cutting foreign aqid and UN membership, all elite politicos just scoff at the very ideas that we should criticize their wisdom. the moralis, don’t expect pliticians to change these things.

  • Come on, this is just a smokescreen to hide what has already happened. The gov took over Fannie and Freddie who claim to own 96% of the mortgages. They are responsible for all of the foreclosures because they are charging back non performing loans to the banks. Presumably the banks can get money from the Fed window to write them down. Now, who do you suppose made BOA buy Countrywide, the biggest originator of subprime loans to Fannie and Freddie.? Warren Buffet stepped up with 5B for BOA while millions of their card holders file complaints and lawsuits against their outrageous treatment. If you don’t think about this and buy the gov propaganda you will be hurt bad.

  • I was watching Christopher Hitchens debate a scientist on atheism recently. He threw away an assertion that there is no proof of the supernatural. He always seems so ignorant to me. He has probably never even considered the enormous body of miracle literature. It would fill a much bigger book than his slim tome. In doing a PhD on a medieval religious belief I saw how much evidence they recorded.

As Jesus said, “those who have eyes to see will see” applies. If you deny something from childhood you will not see miracles all around you. If, on the other hand, you are open to seeing them, you may indeed witness some wondrous events.

  • As an Austrian, Huffington has had little chance of understanding or supporting democracy. They went from absolute monarchy to the birthplace of Hitler in a brief time. So aren’t we making a mistake to elect or listen to people like her criticize us. At the very least, it is very bad manners.
What ignoramus talks about the lizard brain? It is an interesting topic, but it does not sound like she knows anything about it. That’s funny, because they rely on propaganda which works by repetition that is stored and reinforced by the limbic brain.
When immigrants come to the USA to enjoy the benefits of our society, they should mind their manners and shut up until they know and understand more. We are not interested in Mexicans teaching us about lawlessness or in learning how to fall to absolute government control. We’d better soon learn that tolerance does not mean that we have to put up with subversion, anti-Americanism, or immorality in the name of religion or ideology. We need to decide what is intolerable and draw a clear red line.

so, it doles not sound like they really know anything about the limbic brain.
