  WOW! There really are people who think the earth is 6,000 years old! In the depths of my cynicism I never believed people could still believe this. I thought it was a myth made up by the left wing nut jobs to make conservative Christians look ignorant. It’s like listening to someone argue the sun orbits the earth (don’t tell me anyone believes this). The vatican, for what it’s worth, employs scientists, they are scientist priests and ALL are in agreement the earth is roughly 4.5 Billion years old.

  Also, freedom of religion means freedom from religion. Our morals do not come from our faith, they come from our biology. Studies of primates prove they feel: loyalty, sympathy towards weaker members, intolerance of cruelty, a sense of shame, even a sense of justice. Religion codifies and cements these traits, it does not create them.

  It scares me to think that the only think preventing you Christians from going on a killing spree is the threat of eternal damnation – it’s really all about you… isn’t it?

  It’s not fake or staged, the tears are real, just not for reason you nor I would understand.There are other more obvious reasons for their tears. They are terrified.

  Anyone who knows anything about North Korea knows this video is neither shocking nor faked. But it is heart-warming to see the lack of basic human empathy on The Blaze towards these long-suffering people. And to use a humanitarian crisis as yet another opportunity to bring Obama(?!) somehow into the discussion by comparing him to Kim Jong Il. Anyone doing so knows NOTHING about North Korea. It’s just as hyperbolic and stupid sounding as comparing Burt&Ernie to Hitler. I disagree with virtually everything Obama has done but he’s just a man: well-intended but philosophically different from me and without the necessary experience for the job. But this does NOT make him the reincarnation of Stalin! Have you people no sense of proportion or perspective. Do you react to an ant infestation in your bathroom by burning down your entire house?!! This is what is wrong with our country now: no one has the intelligence or civility to debate and disagree, no – you must HATE as well. Good luck with that approach – it’s never worked before but who knows, maybe you’ll be the first,

  It’s very touching to see all the mean-sprited comments here directed at someone because they have a serious neurological illness. Remember that the next time someone you like suffers from an illness and the wing-nuts from “the other side” start making fun of him or wishing him ill, you will have no cause to be upset because you‘ve demonstrated you’re just as low and mean as they are. By the logic demonstrated on this board it‘s perfectly fine to call people ’retards’ or such. You were fine with it when they called Palin one… oh, wait, you weren’t okay with it…. standards: get some.

  Technically speaking he is correct. As an “ism’ is a meme and is transmitted though culture via language. So Marxism, Capitalism, Christianity, Atheism are all memes. They travel through society and recruit people to work for them. In this sense memes evolve and cultivate a niche environment the same way animals do. The best suited and fittest idea/meme tends to survive the longest. But it must also change so Jesus’s Christianity is not our christianity after it became a locus of social and political power. Jesus would, in fact, be disgusted by the amount of money wasted on churches and cathedrals and empty gestures to glorify him. Jesus had the right idea, too bad no one seems to understand anything he said.

  The FBI spent the better part of the 80′s looking for evidence of satanic cults and satanic sacrifices. Spent a lot of money too. They. Didn’t. Find. A. Single. One. …. Ever. Because they don’t exist. Sure, every now and then some kids will want to rebel, spray-paint abandoned houses with pentagrams and talk about Satan. But they’re kids, they’re just trying to look scary, same reason they try out funny hair-dos and smoke. They grow out of it and look back with embarrassment.

  The “graphic” opening montage? Now who is being careless with words? “Graphic” should be reserved for things that are, you know… graphic: war footage, people getting maimed and killed. Name-calling does not qualify as graphic ya’ big babies.

  Also, the “what do you read” is NOT a “gotcha” question. We’re talking about a potential leader of the free world and if a question like “what do you read” throws her off her game… do you really want the same person to be sitting down with the likes Putin? I mean, if that “throws her” then why would anyone expect her to handle a difficult question? And No, “what do you read” is NOT a difficult question… if you, in fact, read.
