Go Chiefs! This year has sucked (actually, so have the last 14 years)…but it‘s nice that they’re featured in the news for something good. Hopefully this is the start of many more wins in the future.

  • Good for the defenders of the Nativity. It’s time that the silent majority be silent no longer. WE ARE A CHRISTIAN NATION WITH CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES.

Do you think that happiness comes from having a clean conscience and a firm footing on moral principles?

  • I heard something on the Neal Boortz show about a week ago that seems fitting to the Cain accusations. This was on Neal’s site, and I wonder if anyone could possibly connect some dots on this one:

“Something occurred to me last week. I’ve expressed it on the air a few times, but don’t think I’ve put it into the Nuze.
Take a look at Herman Cain’s work history. He was a civilian analyst for the Navy working on ballistic missile technology. He then went to work for Coca-Cola. In 1977 he joined Pillsbury and worked up to a position as vice-president. Then he turned around some Burger King franchises for Pillsbury. Pillsbury then made him president of the Godfather’s Pizza chain. He later bought Godfather’s and ran it successfully for many years. For three years he was the President of the National Restaurant Association. He also worked as an economic advisor during Bob Dole’s campaign for president.
OK .. here’s my question. Throughout that entire work history, starting in the early 1970’s — The Defense Department, Coca-Cola, Pillsbury, Burger King, Godfather’s Pizza, the National Restaurant Association, the Dole campaign and his years working for WSB Radio in Atlanta — can you tell me just why ALL of the allegations of sexual harassment came from those three years with the NRA? Was it something in the food? Seems a bit odd to me.”

    In reply to RLTW.

Absolutely right! If I were in uniform trying to break this mess up, I would not have handled it as well as these officers did.

  • God bless those officers. I can’t imagine the discipline it takes for them to go out and do their job and not respond negatively to crowds of people who are mistreating them for doing their job. God be with them!

  • I currently work in retail…and I am trying to find something else. I believe that we‘ve become so materialist that we’ve failed to see any meaning behind our holidays. I used to look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, now I dread them because I know that I’m going to be working around the clock. When I find or create a new opportunity for myself, I will dial back my involvement in shopping for the holidays. I can’t control what others do, but I can certainly treat the holidays with the respect and meaning that they deserve.

Should stores be open on the holidays? No. Do I think that private businesses have the right to open when they want? Yes. It’s up to us as individuals to determine whether or not it is worth it to the private businessman to be open on those days. If we don’t shop on Sundays, businesses will be less likely to want to be open on Sundays…and I imagine God will probably bless us for respecting His holy days.
