  • man…this guy gives Christians a bad name. I’m a pastor, and i have no clue how he came up with any d-day conclusions using the Bible. 2nd Thess 2:1- “Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed….”

  • Agreed. there are plenty of secular resources that we can use to validate the authenticity of early church writings; i.e., Gospels, Pauline Letters, etc…by using resources such as the Muratorian Canon, Eusebius, and general tradition, however, i can never find any validation outside the Book of Mormon. Basic Christian Fundamentals teach that there is a Monotheism, creating the Christian Doctrine. But Mormonism teaches Polytheistic views. doesnt add up…

  • The only problem is that of Historical background. I have remained opened minded for this same reasoning while studying LDS Doctrine, and while the overall morality is understandable, and there is a slight connection, historical references prove otherwise to the validity of the authorship of the Book of Mormon. I would love to read secular history accrediting LDS doctrine, however there doesnt seem to be any, mind you i am not disclaiming, only theorizing. i say secular history because as everyone knows, you cannot use a source to prove itself. circular reasoning leads to dead ends.

  • I’ve read multiple comments from LDS followers on this page, and every one of them brushes the Biblical teachings of the Trinity aside. 3 separate beings creates a Polytheistic Doctrine, and as one should know, the Non-denominational Christian faith is based upon a Monotheistic theology. Now, you will hear Matthew 27:46 (My God, why have you forsaken me…) put out of Theological context by LDS debtors, but with minimal scriptural (not to be confused with Book of Mormon) reference and theological reasoning, we find that there is but ONE God. analogies to explain; Sun, Ray, Light (all same, with different effects); Spring, Stream, Channel; Egg, shell, yolk…etc, etc… scripture to ponder on; Ephesians 1:3-17; 1st Corinthians 8:6.

  • @ The-Final-Act; That is so true! i just finished reading that book again last night. awesome literature
