  Statement release from PA Congressional Candidate Ted Waga on executive order:

  This Executive Order issued by President Obama derives is powers from The Defense Production Act of 1950. This particular Executive Order is very dangerous because, as it states in sec. 101, the purpose of it is to delegate power that is reserved for the President of the United States of… America to appointed bureaucrats. This gives Presidential power and authority to people who are not elected officials. Furthermore, this power is not just reserved for times of national emergency. Section 102 clearly states that these powers are for peacetime and times of national emergency. Section 201(a) identifies those to whom the president has delegated authority to. They are the secretaries of: Agriculture, Energy, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Defense and Commerce. Section 201(b) states that they, “shall plan for and issue regulations to prioritize and allocate resources and establish standards and procedures by which the authority shall be used to promote the national defense, under both emergency and non-emergency conditions.” These appointed agency heads also have the authority to give loan guarantees, make loans and subsidy payments. Section 308 (a), (b), (c) seems to give these agency heads power over privately owned facilities and busi
