This Group Didn’t Want to Pay an Automatic Gratuity, Restaurant Responds by Locking Them Inside & Calling Police

4. Since the service was bad, the patrons are obligated to pay the oxymoronic clause stipulated by most restaurants as “A Gratuity of XX% will be added to your bill for a party of X or more”. The key word being WILL. The patrons did not hold to the agreement. The original agreement did not provide a caveat of “if the service sucks…”.
So my original premise still stands, albeit a little fuzzy.
Synopsis:
Yes, a tip is usually voluntary, but the restaurant has a right to define terms and you should pay. If you don’t like it, don’t come back.
Sheessh. A tip split x amount of ways. IT couldn’t have been worth it.

Merriam-Webster
something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service; especially : tip
Now that I do not agree with a restaurant requiring a 17% gratuity, but it is stated on the menu. It‘s restaurant’s choice. Kind of an a la carte thing. They went into the meal knowing this.
Pay it, and inform the manager that due to the restaurant’s policy; you and your friends will not return do to such poor service. Oh, and BTW don’t return.

At a glance this is hexadecimal code, and curiously laid out in a binary pattern.
They may be an iterative corollary to ACSII, or perhaps it can be deconstructed from a Fourier compression algorithm.
Hope that will get you started.

Nice handle Dread. Inigo Montoya is looking to break this code too.
I have been interviewing programmers for the last 2 weeks, and have a short, informal test.
Most of them are failing badly even though the questions range from easy to advanced. I could weed them out by sending to this website first!
And with what they are asking for in wages.. I am asking my boss for a raise!

Don’t Rain on My Parade: Sunny July Fourth Means More Republicans?
July 3, 2011 at 1:25pm
A relevant question would be, “Whp paid for this inane study?”. Another question could be, “Why was this even studied?” I lloked through the report, and found nothing about who paid, but I will bet bottom dollar (no pun intended) that our tax dollars are hard at work here. As to the why..still not sure but here is a paragaph from the report.
“Motivated by the emphasis placed on children during the festivities, our main objective in
this paper is to analyze the impact of Fourth of July celebrations during childhood on political
preferences and behavior later in life. Estimating the effect of public events, such as Fourth of July,
presents two main challenges, however. First, it is difficult to observe participation in Fourth of
July festivities. For example, it is hard to measure how many parades an individual attended during
childhood, or how many fireworks she watched. Second, even if such measures are correlated
with political preferences, they may not reflect a causal effect of Fourth of July. For instance,
patriotic families might both attend celebrations and have preferences in favor of the Republicans.
A correlation between participation in Fourth of July festivities and partisanship, thus, simply
reflects that some families are more inherently patriotic.”
The next paragraph goes on to explain, due to the 4th being an outdoor event, they used weather to ‘draw’ their corollary.

I didn’t let either of my kids watch the SS.
I read to them every night and helped them with their homework.
From early on we played games on the computer that were fun but made them think like ‘Freddie Fish’. My wife and I limited them on TV time, and didn’t use the TV as a baby sitter. The ‘teletubbies’ never would come on; the state would not raise my children. We sent them to private school. They excel at all they do, and are at the youngest is in 11 grade and in the top of her class.
I didn’t have childern to let someone else raise them. It doesn’t take a village, but a village can produce a number of village idiots.
