  @MASIMO: Ummm, aren’t we to imitate Christ? Christ followed an organized religion. Christ started an organized religion. Christ prayed that the Church He founded would remain one until His return. The Catholic Church is this one Church Christ founded. We Catholics have had dark periods in time, but we will endure until the end, make no mistake about it. No other Christian denomination can make this claim that they were there at the start with Jesus and will endure to the end.

  @SWEATHOG1948: Yes, Mary is the mother of God. To divide Jesus’ divine and human natures into two distinct “persons” and say that she was not the mother of God is an ancient heresy called Nestorianism.

  You may wish to check out Jesus’ own words regarding sin. Yes, some sins are greater than others. Some sins lead to death and some do not. See John 19:11 for an example: “Thou shouldst not have any power against me, unless it were given thee from above. Therefore, he that hath delivered me to thee, hath the greater sin.”

  Amen and amen. This is the same Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church for which Jesus prayed that it be one just as He and the Father are one. I see no other Christian denomination that is one in faith, morals, and doctrine. They are all splintered and disagree at some point. This is why there are more than 30,000 Protestant denominations in the US alone. They have a real authority problem that is not present in the Catholic Church. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” How did the Father send Jesus? With *all* authority. The Catholic Church is also the only Church to hold this authority and teach it.

  No, I don’t agree. The Catholic teaching of social justice is not the same as the social justice foisted on the population by the far left. It never has been. The two teachings are as far as the East is from the West. Please research this topic and don’t buy into the lie.

Pagan Rome fit the description of seven hills, but you can hardly ascribe that to the Vatican, which does not sit on seven hills, BTW. Only a fringe group of Catholic-hating Protestants believes what you are saying.

  Jesus is not returning to Jerusalem as you have said. He is building a new Jerusalem.

  Mary was saved by the blood of Jesus prior to conception. That’s why we call it the Immaculate Conception. Jesus could not co-exist with sin. That’s why Mary was full of grace. Can you be full of grace, yet have sin at the same time? No.

  The sin offering was done as a matter of tradition in accordance with Jewish law. Mary, Joseph, and eventually Jesus were devout and followed Jewish law. Every first-born male was taken to be consecrated as a matter of this tradition.
