  You are 100% correct.

  Sadly even some of our conservative brothers and sisters still use African-American.
  I am 75% Italian and never in my life did I call myself an Italian-America… Nor do I hear anyone
  using their heritage as descriptive in front of American beside the African-American crowd.

  I as many of you, believe man to be created equal… What the leaders in the Black community need to do is push this agenda.. You are NO different, no special names, no services…. NOTHING over and above what any other AMERICAN would receive…

  Especially if you want to be EQUAL!!!

  Respect matters. Although it is constitutional for them to build the mosque and within their religious freedom.. it shows the up most contempt for public opinion. It also will NOT,build any bridges and will disrespect the families, friends and the majority of Americans. The funny thing about our rights.. we also have the right to protest and right to free speech. In this case public opinion is using their constitutional rights can change the minds of the owners to act with respect and build bridges. A method liberals are very familiar with.

  So in the end, The owners of the mosque would through free will choose to build bridges, respect the area (logically), gain respect of ALL Americans and their motives will not be questioned.
  And in the court of public opinion… we would have done what we felt was right in our hearts and minds, all the while not compromising our values, principles, ethics or morals but mostly not compromising the Constitution!!

  I think it all comes down to this…
  Tolerance in conservatism ,

  There has been much talk about tolerance lately. In general I believe we as a diverse people on this planet should practice tolerance. I also accept things to be right and wrong. I truly believe that if you know something to be wrong or when it goes against your ethics or morals you should not be tolerant. Tolerance seems to be used hypocritically mostly, the people or groups accusing those of being intolerant seem to be ignorant to the opposing argument. Thus showing zero tolerance toward the individuals or groups they call intolerant. A typical double standard.

  Tolerance also has been used as a guilt pawn, making most of us normal people feel like we need to be tolerant toward everything and everyone. Well guess what, there is a limit. Every time you are tolerant you move your moral compass toward those things you normally would not tolerate. Next thing you know we are in a world of Political Correctness where your values, morals, ethics are all compromised, all in the name of tolerance. We have moved our moral compass 180* just in my short 35 years, so much that I do not even know some of my friends. Growing up in a time of logic, common sense, standards, a time where having ethics and morals were something to be proud of.

  Enter our current day psychosis. The waters are so muddied that standing up for what you believe in, standing up for what is right, respectful, moral, ethical, you are considered closed-minded and intolerant.I would love to return to a time where it was admirable to stand for something, for believing in something……A time where the only thing that was TOLERABLE was the truth and honesty, and common sense and logic led the way.
