  The distance from Tampa to Orlando is approx. 80 miles. So 80 miles = 2.4 billion, That comes to 30 million a mile. The total funds to create “national” high speed rail “network” = (53 billion – 2.4 = 50.6b). It’s 744 miles from Orlando to D.C. at 30m per mile = 22.32b (50.6b – 22.32b = 28.28b). 312 miles from D.C to New York = 9.36b (28.28b – 9.36 = 18.92b) New York to Chicago 460 miles = 13.8b (18.92b – 13.8b = 5.12b) Obviosly 5.12 billion is not enough to reach any other major city. Not to mention the ignored costs of stations, branch locations, service stations etc. So answer me this Mr. Bidden, what nation are you speaking of? From what I can see these numbers can barely cover a regional “network”. And if you want to sell the line about a small city to city network, well great, except it failed misserably when Amtrak did it, tell me why should we expect a different outcome with your choo choos?

  Oh and by the way Orlando to L.A. is 2205 miles = 66.15b. Ooops, guess that won’t work.

  You see it’s ok for her because she is smart enough to make the right choices. We the people however are not there fore it is her duty to manage our diets for our own benifit. Can’t you see it, it’s for our own good. So get in line a ask what to do next before you hurt you simple little self. Yet another shinning example of the liberal elite left.   Wait a second, has’nt she been ranting about the greedy rich? Seems to me 15m a year (and I am sure that’s not her only household income) puts her among the privlaged ranks. Truth be told there are for more rich lefties than there are on the right, yet the right give over 90% more to charity than the left. Who are the greedy ones???????? Plus statistics also show the cheat on taxes significantly more than conservatives.

  I love the Palin haters that bash her on issues they do not understand. Fact is she was right about Sputnik. What she was referring to was the fact that when government runs/funds innovation not only does it dramatically slow progress, the costs are astronomical. The point about the collapse of the USSR, was, if you know and understand history, Sputnik was so wasteful and expensive that it started the financial collapse which in turn led to the fall of the USSR. The Cold War was certainly a factor, but not the sole cause. It takes more than one factor to collapse a nation, like housing, energy, manufacturing…… You know all the thing the lefts is working overtime to destroy in America using the Saul Alinsky, and Coward (Clowerd) and Piven approach.

  You see my uninformed leftist friend, there are a lot more things to consider, learn, and understand in politics than what the socialist media is telling those unwilling or incapable of doing their own research. Like the USA is doing now, they fell for the notion that the government could create and innovate which has historically been proven impossible due to fraud,
  red tape, “political bargaining”, ……. I know it’s had to grasp that a bubble gum and lolli pop world is not possible, but it’s true. The “social justice” you are seeking will in fact lead to oppression, and likely mass genocide as in every socialist attempt in history has.

  I must say I am truly grateful to hear of his resignation. He obviously was not fit to serve the public if he is so quick to cut and run. Especially considering the odds of this happening to him is astronomically low. I only wish more weak minded public servants would take his lead. Although that would mean we would need to hold an emergency election to fill 98% of all positions nation wide.
