  999 replaces existing taxes and what’s more brings those taxes out in the open for all to see. It also offers a way to transition to the FairTax. The plan may not be perfect but it’s a good starting point. With the 999 plan, we have “shared sacrifice” and everyone has some “skin in the game” so politicians cannot raise taxes without EVERYONE feeling the pain. Please take time to read hermancain dot com/999plan. PS there is no VAT tax, as I often hear on Fox and on discussion forums. Anyone saying that does not comprehend what a VAT tax is or they are deliberately spreading misinformation!

  Hmm, Fuh-reed ““My GPS Is Socialist”” Zak-whatsisname, like many National democrat Socialsts, has this marvelous ability to describe his team while attempting to describe the opposing one. Let’s see, are the Socialists ideologically extreme? Check. Do they refuse to compromise? Check. Not only that, they have nothing to compromise, offering no solutions and no alternatives. He must be confused, either that or he’s projecting.

  Thank God for the Tea Party, it’s driving these socialists up a wall and watching them squirm and beat around the bush is so much fun.   A lot of atheists think America should be an atheist nation. (Some exceptions, I‘ve seen very tolerant atheists who don’t try to force their beliefs,or lack thereof, on others) Maybe they should start living up to their name and stop caring about God!! They are obssessed with God! You can’t put up a cross or religious sign or name a street with “Heaven” without them jumping on it. If they truly were atheists they wouldn’t care either way. Some people believe in aliens and put up giant alien heads and UFO signs – I don‘t believe in aliens but I’m not going to sue these folks and follow them around trying to “enlighten” them.

  Now I would imagine lots of atheists DO believe in aliens, but that’s another topic…

  A lot of atheists need to read “The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of United States” and learn a few things. We have irrefutable Judeo-Christian roots, some folks can’t deal with that and it continually pains and troubles them to their core.

  I don’t care what the supreme court says, they’ve been wrong before and are wrong now. The Constitution does not say one cannot express/discuss their religion in the public square. Americans have expressed/discussed their religion (mainly Christian, I know I know those bastard extremist Christians) in the public square for hundreds of years. “Locked” and others have no point, but lots of wishful thinking and sarcasm to disguise their weak logic and inner loyalty to the dark side. They need to read up on their American history and less time going with the flow. Start by reading “The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States” if you have the courage to do so. If that doesn’t draw a stark contrast for you, the nothing will. Progressives have slowly destroyed the Christian foundation of America brick by brick, and now feel strong enough to lecture us into silence and walking around on eggshells with our religion. Sorry, won’t work on all of us, but feel free to keep trying!

  TPaw you suck. How about cutting spending? How about a flat consumption tax?

  How about the BOTTOM 50% pay some taxes for a change. Even if only a couple hundred bucks a year. I’m sick of subsidizing the “takers” so they can whine, vote for democrats, and then demand even more handouts. We average Joes have been paying more than our fair share – time for the takers to shoulder some of the burden.

  Lincoln knew slavery was morally wrong. He was interested in preserving the Union and letting slavery fall out of favor over time. It was inevitable that Americans came to terms with and turned against slavery, in fact this was already happening during Lincoln’s time. Lincoln did not feel as President it was his place to order Americans not to have slaves. In hindsight many folks tend to think Lincoln did not have a problem with slavery because he did not “order” it to stop. Well it ain’t that simple. The Emancipation Proclamation declared slaves in SECEDING CONFEDERATE states to be free and allowed recruiting those former slaves into the Union Army. This proclamation technically had little if any power but gave the Union Army something to help unite them.

  Ironic, today we have a pResident dictator who thinks he can tell Americans what they can and cannot do. Lincoln did not think that way.

  Lincoln is quoted in many places as against slavery. Here’s one quote from a Lincoln letter, you can find the original letter online:
  “I am naturally anti-slavery. If slavery is not wrong, nothing is wrong. I can not remember when I did not so think, and feel. And yet I have never understood that the Presidency conferred upon me an unrestricted right to act officially upon this judgment and feeling.”
