  • Of course, Rand Paul was targetted by the TSA. They wanted to find or manufacture something that they thought would discredit the man. Idiot TSA! Their efforts publicized and legitimized the campaign of a man whose run for the Presidency seemed to have ready to be declared “leaglly dead”! By the way, I have Parkinson’s Disease, carry a walking stick when I’m away from home for stability, and have a Blog Talk Radio show in which I teach tradktional American values (you know, support of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the balance of powers in the federal government, that kind of terroristic propaganda that frightens the modern illiberals so much) — oh, yes, and I state that I believe that the Obama administration is directly responsible for the present crisis in freedom. I guess I can expect that I will “randomly” set off the alarms the next time I visit a government office or public long distance travel terminal.

  • Lots of luxuries on the list, although I grant that many people are increasingly dependent on the digital devices and therfore have honest reasons to grateful for the savings coming their way. I just wish I had the resources to invest in that category, myself. (I’m trying to be objectively honest, really…)

  • The Three Pillars of American Law de facto in the Twenty-First Century:

“If anything can go wrong, it will.” (Murphy’s Law)

“No good deed goes unpunished.” (Attributed to Clare Luce, mid-Twentieth Century)

    “Two plus two equals five [2 + 2 = 5].” George Orwell, “1984”.

    All clear now?

Do the right thing, and it’ll turn out to be the worst thing you could have done.

  • There is a simple word for such a pervasive list of price hikes.

    That word is “INFLATION”.

Stop making the simple complex and the complex simple.

  • Her father’s favorite boss, Cecil B. DeMille, would (I think) have made an epic motion picture out of her story, celebrating her originality and examining the influences of a Hollywood upbringing versus the hippie movement and on through to the dangerous choices we face today — and in a florid manner that would at least get people’s attention, even while they go through the motions of sophisticated mockery of its “overdone” emphasis on values. Kind of an up-to-date variant of what he achieved in “The Ten Commandments”…

  • One of these days, we’re going to hear about a party traveling on desparately urgent and time-sensitive business — thoroughly legitimate — who get to the airport ahead of the recommended time allowance, who end up missing their flight and connections and the chance to meet the requirements for their journey; and all because the TSA officials that they were dealing with did not care for some obviously harmless trinket on the person of one member of the traveling party. Mark my words: it will be reported sooner or later. There is no room for “reductio in absurdum” with the TSA.

  • Greed, selfishness, and strife are all contrary to the Infant who was born in a stable in Bethlehem,

  • Thank you, ACLJ, for providing something to help people fight for common sense interpretations of the Constitution. I am trying to sort out the question of what has been happening in our country over the past 100-odd years, who is really responsible for the catastrophe that so many of us see on the horizon, what are the real meanings of labels and tagsbeing tossed about so blithely by all parties, and what my Supreme Boss wants me to do in all of this. My work in progress can be followed over the internet radio site BlogTalkRadio.under the title “God and the American Story”. I am going for the history rather than any of the current-issue tags, because I am trying to be objective on these matters. That is a crucial objective. Only God (and history, under Him) can judge my success or failure there.

  • Truth will answer answer a falsehood. It does not have to depend upon silencing a falsehood, because truth ALWAYS prevails in the end. No matter how slanted the course, no matter the number or nature of the obstacles, truth prevails on its own. Truth never uses the devices being used against these children.

Why is this obvious fact so hard for its opponents to see — unless, indeed, they are completely blind?

  • In the Garden of Eden, according to those who accept the Bible as the literal truth, this would have been an everyday sort of encounter with all of the creatures that coinhabit the earth. Every now and again, God draws back the veil of that epoch and lets us see what we have been missing, to provoke our “jealousy” (the Apostle Paul’s word) and so prod us at least in the direction toward salvation.

Oh, and my compliments to the entire visiting party for their good sense and calm demeanor in this startling encounter. When people get hurt in this sort of a scenario, it’s usually because they panic or otherwise get excited and alarm the creatures into a defensive strike.

Oh, one more thing: Did you get the impression that this family group were touring the human encampment much like the way we visit the “wildlife safari” parks here at home — and out of good will toward us at that!
