  I’ve read U.K newspaper accounts of the protests in England and they are critical of the arrests made by the authorities. The number of peaceful protestors arrested far outweighed the number of anarchists who were mostly young thugs out to break windows at banks and other businesses. None of the violent protestors were arrested , even though they were caught in the act ( the Blaze had pictures even ) by cameras and video recorders. The reason I come to the Blaze is to read conservative opinions and feedback. I go to HuffPo for a progressive twist to the news. I do not come here for truth. Nor there for truth. This country is in far more trouble than politics can solve , and I’m wasting my time looking for enlightenment at this website. Take care, it was fun.

  DOC.you make railing accusations that can’t be backed up…my great-great grandfather and 3 of his brothers fought for the UNION Army, and all 4 survived. I am grateful to God that they fought for the preservation of our Union.

  LLOYD……several different scenarios could have developed over time , but the point is that the people would have determined where they stood on slavery. If there would have been 2 or even 3 or 4 nations it would have allowed newly settled areas to decide which nation was best for them to seek recognition in. My main point is that even in the 19th century our ancestors should have ended or continued slavery without killing one another. I believe Lincoln was exercising his belief in a strong central government, not ending slavery.

  I agree that Lincoln was one of our great presidents , but I disagree with his waging of the Civil War. If Lincoln would have allowed the Confederacy to exist as a seperate nation we wouldn’t have ever had the huge centalized government we have, and have had for nearly 150 years. I believe in states rights and believe the slave owning states should have been allowed to continue with a slave-based economy to compete with the free-states. Eventually the North and the South would have been able to determine through competition who had the better system. Slavery would have eventually ended, or continued through peaceful disearnment instead of violence to Americans of both sides.

  After seeing the motherblanker word jump out at me I was surprised the story went on to say the Rev. was “ sexually excited ”. I mean..let’s face it..after dropping an F bomb whats a little “ hard on ” gonna hurt ?
