Wow, there are many very thoughtful, interesting comments here.

@bhaub, you are one exception to that statement. Latter-day Saints (Mormons) don’t believe that God lives on Kolob. If you bothered to read the scriptures from which the account of Kolob comes you might then understand that Kolob is a star (not a planet) and is near to the place where God resides. The scriptures (Pearl of Great Price) do not specify exaclty where God lives or exactly what it is like.

  • BEAR- I couldn’t agree with you more!!!! Well said. I am LDS and I appreciate that I live in a country that is diverse and that others have as much a right to their beliefs as I do mine. Maybe some people can’t see anything beyond themselves, but hopefully Romney can ( I can). And no I am not automatically going to vote for him because he is LDS. I will vote for the best person for the job.

  • Interesting how this turned into a debate about religion in general via the comments. This guy is married, probably in the temple and signed an honor code. So it is simple- he was dressed immodestly according to the Lord’s standards. No big debate needed. He will hopefully choose his attire more wisely in the future. Learn from our mistakes and move on. That’s life.

  • Very well said! Exactly what I would have said… only you did it better. Thanks!

  • We are in a war of ideas.

I belive in marriage as defined in the bible.
I belive immigration done legally is wonderful. If I moved to another country I would have to do so legally.
I respect people of other faiths, but I do have a problem with the hateful nature of some of Islams teachings. So I respect the Muslims I know unless they ever give me a reason not to.
I love my freedom. Without it I wouldn’t be able to live according to my faith. My father was a career Marine and I am so grateful for the example he provided. He was willing to serve his country and die for it if necessary. He taught me that freedome comes with service and sacrifice.
More than anything I love my family!
Now if this makes me a crazy, right wing conservative then I will wear the badge proudly!!!!

  • Camping is just doing his part to fulfill scripture. He is being a false prophet. And he is entertaining us too!

I am a Christian but I find this guy ridiculous and I feel sorry for those that believe him. To those making fun of people of faith, let me point out that the very nature of faith in God is such that one can’t “prove” his existance, or lack there of. That is a deliberate part of the design of our mortal experience. We each come to our testimony on a personal level. No one can talk a person into or out of faith. Nothing I ever say will convince another person to believe in God… but I know for myself that God exists because I have had experiences in my life that show me personally that this is true. If you don‘t agree it’s simply because you don’t want to find out for yourself. Laugh all you want now. You won’t be laughing later.

  • Amen!

  • While I don’t agree with the deceptive way they gathered this info, I do find the outcome infuriating. Have people lost their minds? How can you live freely in a society where only some speech is allowed. Who gets to decide what is okay and what isn’t? What adds to the fuel here is that I have friends that signed online petitions to get Beck off the air where I live. I confronted them and asked, “who do you think you are to decide what I can listen to?”. No answer. Things are getting so divided in this country that friendships are ending, families fueding, etc. I don’t know what else to say.
