  while the physical locations of bookstores may be losing some jobs, the digital field of those same bookstores are growing like crazy to meet the changes and demands for digital material. Barnes & Noble has the Nook series and Borders sells Kobo readers and others. plus there is a need for encoding technicians, digital reader component producers, new advertising. also, expanded digital markets now reach out to those who don’t live near a large bookstore.

  plus… the competition between the iPad, Nook, and Kindle (plus other smaller readers from Sony, etc.) create growth itself… simple free economics

  I agree…. I’m sick of this giving heroin to heroin addicts mentality (hypothetically speaking). giving them something that they just keep come back for more… as if these entitlement programs actually help most of their recipients get back on their feet and (gasp) work for a living!
