  • The Top Ten Pro-Freedom Movies of All Time

    September 22, 2011 at 4:58pm

Rocky IV over Red Dawn as a movie symbolizing triumph over Soviet Russua? I knew at number 10 that this would be a countdown with a lot of flaws.

  • So what kinds of movies, plays, or functions have been shown at this Theatre. I cannot tell by the the article if it is a cinema or playhouse. If it is a cinema, I would assume that no Michael Moore movies or most hollywood movies have played here. This is about the lamest excuse a person could give, it‘s the IRS’s fault you cannot air a viewing. What next? We need to stand up to censorship before we are shut-up all together. IRS brought down Capone, and now is being used to shut-up Beck. Can’t make this stuff up, I guess.

  • “… 3 year relationship with his 24-yr old daughter… pleads guilty to a misdemeanor charge for ‘attempted’ incest.”

What would he need to do to be charged with incest, if this constitutes ‘attempted’? I can‘t believe that any law enforcement agency would allow a defense attorney to plea down this charge to one that doesn’t even admit the act. Any D.A. would be scrutinize, and rightly so, by public outcry… wouldn’t they?

  • Two things severely wrong with the Presidents speech today:

    1. The timing
    2. The words

Mr. President… you do not like Israel, whatever your reason may be, it is clear to everyone who pays attention to you. Therefore, anytime you mention Israel in a speech, it is understood that you only mean the harsh words spoken towards them. Comparing the Father of the butchered family with the palestinian who lost loved ones from a rocket, despicable. Israeli father’s family was murdered and celebrated by the people of Palestine. The palestinian lost loved ones from a rocket, I am betting that was fired as a means of self-defense or retaliation. Both are extremely tragic for the surviving family members, but not equatable on a Global scale…. would almost be like equating the sorrow and grief between a mother who lost her baby due to a horrible disease, and one who lost her baby because she had an abortion (absurd right??).

As a spokesman for the nation I love and am proud to be a citizen of… it is frustrating that more often than not I am completely on the opposite side of issues when he says ‘The United States people believe……” Please stop speaking for the people of the USA, you have absolutely know grasp of what the pulse of the citizens are. As we will find out in the Middle East, it isn’t the loudest few, but rather the silent majority that most represents the pulse of a nation. Sadly, it is the loud minority that usually gets what they want. That is

  • Good Idea, but a little excessive… voting age is good @ 18, if your old enough to die for this country then you need to be able to vote for its representatives at home. Age isn’t the problem, its criteria. Maybe only contributors to the country should be given the power to vote, if you have a job, are retired, or unable to work because of disablility should be our voting pool… is it a coincidence that work experience is a major factor in the switch of young liberals to mature conservatives? People will always vote to protect there individual freedoms. Unfortunately, people who do not contribute rely on their ‘individual’ freedom to be given to them by the government… so by them voting for a bigger government, they are in actuality voting for ‘individual’ freedom – as it applies to them.

As for Bristol Palin ‘controversy’ – the wrong debate is taking place… it isn‘t an issue about whether she is ’too controversial‘ the question that should be asked by the students that invited her is ’Who is going to be there now to do the counterpoint?’ Was she really the best person to do a pro-abstinence side of a debate, if she was (especially at $20,000) the best representative, then that is more of an issue than her being uninvited….

  • I don’t recall the outrage and demand for apology when Hillary Clinton spoke in a different dialect when she spoke in the south, during her run for president…. Double standard is ridiculous, Left-leaning organizations and Democrats from various states demanding an apology from something Rush says or they’ll boycott… how is this news? That would be like “The Sun rose and will set later today” being news.

  • The 24 WH staff, were they on vacation as well or did we cover there expenses so that they could work over there. If they were on vacation, should have been there money, and if they were working, they should really start investing in some of the technological advances they keep wanting to regulate… ever heard of netmeetings and teleconferencing WH. We know the President has a Blackberry, what does he use it for a paperweight.

I have zero problem with the security or even the cost of the Air Force one flight, he’s the President, but Why does Michelle always go on these vacations a day or so ahead of time? What’s the deal there.

  • Tea Party Hypocrisy on Earmarks?

    December 30, 2010 at 1:39pm

Let’s not go all up-in-arms, feet to the fire, crazy right away… Data should always be put into context before reacting abnormally. 52 Reps (no offense intended for those with 0 – $0, well done), 764 earmarks, just over $1 Billion for Fiscal Year 2010. With an underscored estimated total FY 2010 Budget of $3 Trillion, these earmarks represent .035% (basically 1/3 of 1%) of the total budget. Not that that excuses the practice, but I, personally, would like the data to be able to compare these 52 with there $1 Billion worth of earmarks against the remaining 383 and their not reported Billions (I’m sure).

I agree there should be zero earmarks, we pay their salaries to govern. Why it isn’t required for each one to be stand alone legislation is beyond me… I know, it would give them less time parading around the country and appearing on talk shows, but, again, we pay them to govern. They say it is to time consuming to do everything stand-alone, couldn’t be done… I may be optimistic but if a governing body can ram through a 2000+ page in a week or so, surely a few thousand less than a page bills that wind up as earmarks can be handled by that same governing body, and if they can’t do it maybe they should stop running for reelection. Shouldn‘t ask others to hire you for a job that you can’t properly do.

This incoming congress does need to be held accountable, but I believe we also need to be sure that we take everything in context and not judge people strict with a black/white litmus… the society we all live in is a world of gray…. Remember that reps and senators are employees of the American people, and no employee is perfect at the job they are hired to do. Mistakes will inevitably be made, but you don’t expect your postal carrier to be fired each time you get someone elses mail… I hope.

  • If it turns out to be true, then any deaths or injuries caused by intentional slowdown will be blamed on the government entities who put lives in danger to save a couple of bucks. Union workers will not be blamed for this at all. When all the dust settles, it’ll be the politicians fault, the gov’t or city departments who hold the contracts will be held libel and (wait for it)… the people will need to cover the forthcoming lawsuits.

System seems to work just fine.
