  • “All Atheist read this. It’s the first amendment”

    Can we change this to:

“All Retards read this. It’s the first amendment”

There are ALOT of people who misinterperate the first amendment, of every belief. I personally do not believe in the Christian idealogy, but respect it greatly and think ALL religion is a wonderful thing (this is to exclude extremists which exist in just about ALL religions). The Government has no place to determine what can/should be posted/hung up. If someone doesnt like the way something looks they should not look at it and move on. I try my hardest ( and am not always successful, but no one on this planet is perfect) to respect all people, if not to at least give people the benifit of the doubt, but these people need to learn that life is not fair, life is not easy, and just because you dont like something doesnt mean you can whine it away. The government owes nothing to them (or any of us) except what it promises us in the Constitution, and I am very sad to tell them this, but Hurt Feelings are not protected in the Constitution.

It’s not hard, it’s Common Sense, the country is lacking in it I’m sad to say.

  • Military Chaplains still wear the symbol of their faith, whatever it may be, on their lapels.

  • I ask you to consider this with an open mind.

As an agnostic minded service member myself, and someone who considers themself neutral in the world of religion, I am extremely appreciative of everything religion brings people in this world. I understand there is also alot of negative things that come from it, but there are extremists in every faith, not just the ones you do not agree with.

As for the article, this is not an attack on Christianity, or Obama trying to undermine a certain religion. This is a military regulation that is in place for a reason. While this country WAS founded by Christians, one of the great things about it is the people’s ability to worship under whatever faith they chose and be accepted for it. Military chapels are supposed to be ambiguous because they are a place of worship for all, not just christians or muslems or any specific faith. While I have absolutely no problem with a Cross or any other type of religious symbol anywhere (Put all of them up for all I am concerned) and I most certainly dont agree with people getting “offended” by them and forcing them to be removed, I DO agree that in the case of military Chapels, it is best for them to remain neutral.

People need to remember that not just Christians love this country, and want to protect the ideals of the freedoms we’re supposed to have. A military chaplain, while serving one faith, is a siritual guide to all who serve, and the chapel should remain a place where all can come t
