  • Bingo. You are correct. The flag is not on his property, but on the city’s. Move the flag back 1 foot and all is good.

  • As much as I wanted to be mad about this and find that the enforcement official or whatever was harassing the flag owner, this is not the case. The flag owner put the flag on the city’s right of way, which is NOT his property, it belongs to the city. This would be like him planting the flag in front of the city library on city property. He does not have that right. They even asked him to move the flag back one foot, which would more than likely put the flag on HIS property. This story is getting twisted into something it is not. I’m 100% for citizens flying the American flag ON THEIR property, but public property or property owned by the city falls under the rules governing that particular property. All he has to do is move it 1 foot and all is okay. He still gets to fly the flag and the city is happy.

  • No He (God/Jesus) wouldn’t. God/Jesus does not advocate taking by force something from one person to give to another person. God/Jesus wants all people to ‘freely’ give to those in need, to willingly give what they have to others. Having some Government hack tell me that I HAVE to give a % of my money, based on some Government Hack’s formula, to the Government so THEY can then distribute my money to whomever THEY choose is NOT what God/Jesus would want.

This whole class warefare issue of the ‘have’s‘ and the ’have not‘s’ along with the ‘rich need to pay their fair share of taxes’ is getting out of hand.

When the 50% +/- of the population in this country that pay no income taxes are paying their fair share of income taxes, it will be time to talk.

I am by no means ‘wealthy’ or ‘rich’, but I just did my and my wife’s taxes and we paid over $15K to the IRS and will receive a refund of $434. Yet a friend of mine who paid ‘only’ $2300 to the IRS is getting over $8K back. This is so maddening!

It is time to throw out the IRS and the tax codes and start all over the way the founding fathers originally intended Federal taxes to be collected: The US Government was required to put together a budget on what they intended to spend tax $ on FIRST and that amount of money was to be collected by each State based on each State’s population and then sent to the Government by the State. Federal taxes were intended to be paid by everyone, not just a chos

  • So true. Any ‘Chrisitan’ that is a registered Democrat is NOT a Christian. One cannot support God‘s words and in the same breath support the Democratic platform’s stance on ‘Pro-Choice’ and abortion.

  • As Rush Limbaugh put it today, what Newt did during the last debate is putting into words what so many Conservatives wish Romney, Santorum, Paul, et. al., would do, and that is to PUT THE LIBERAL MEDIA in its place.

I am so sick and tired of our ‘Republican/Conservative’ candidates acting and talking all wishy-washy, trying to be politically correct when talking to the constituents, the press, the people. I am fed up with political correctness and our candidates trying not to offend anybody. I want a candidate that will put on their ‘big-boy’ panties and say what needs to be said!

Do I WANT Newt to be our candidate? Not necessarily. But Mitt is gutless and right now is the only other candidate besides Paul that is anywhere in the standings.

Not one of the candidates is perfect, will be perfect, or will be all things to all voters come November 2012. But if the candidates are going to be all nicey-nice like McCain was in 2008, we are guaranteed to be stuck with Obama for another 4 years. At this point, Newt is the only one that is taking a stand AGAINST the liberal media.

It is up to Romney, Santorum, and Paul to grow a pair and tell the liberal media where it can go and start demanding that Republican candidates be treated the same way that Obama is being treated. We Conservatives are tired of watching our candidates being racked over the coals while Obama gets away with any damned thing he wants.

    Just my two cents.

  • Are we all so darned pickey and judgemental that we will find ‘fault’ in anything? As God says himself in the Bible in multiple instances (Matthew 7, Luke 6, John 7, etc.) that we should not judge others lest we be judged. We do not know what is in Steve Tyler’s heart, so how can we judge?

    1) I thought Steve Tyler did a fairly decent job singing the National Anthem. Was it ‘perfect’? Nope, but just what is perfect to one person may not be perfect to another.

    2) Tyler DID sing with heart and passion, as he sang the way he sings many of the songs from Aerosmith. Did you want him to just stand there like a stump and just mouth the words? He’s been singing the same way for decades and that is how he sings. I saw absolutely nothing disrespectful with how he sang the National Anthem.

    3) It seems to me that NO MATTER who is chosen to sing the National Anthem, as long as the singer doesn’t intentionally screw up the song (Roseanne Barr), there will be people critizing the singer with very few exceptions.

    4) As for changing one word in the anthem, maybe he truly forgot the right word and ad libbed. How many times have you sung the National Anthem (or any other song) and had a brain freeze as to what the next line or word was? I’m 45 years old and have done it many, many times, and I’m not standing in front of a crowd of 70,000+ people in freezing temps.

    5) Let’s get over it and move on to what is truly important in this country and quit being so jud

  • @ NHABE64 – Please remember that as Christians we are to love ALL people (agape love), regardless of their convictions. By calling atheists and socialists ‘….sick, demented wretches’ is not following what God wants us Christians to do and only adds to the negative image that many Christians cause have caused us to have by not being tolerant and forgiving to our fellow man. It is not for us to judge what is in another man’s heart, for that is God’s job. It is for us to pray for our fellow man that they believe in and follow God’s will.
