  • Where the darn phone #? I think a nation wide posting of the number in public toilets, bars, bumperstickers, church bulletins, and so forth should bring a great response. Just call & bitch ‘em out – using public phones of course that way Uncle Eric and Auntie Janet have less chance to break your shoes.

  • Why is everyone so surprised? Look at what Jesus Christ said about this kind of person.

    John 3:19-21
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

  • A lot of great comments and conversation here. This blog could use a track back and thumbs up/down options.

  • “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

To deny the practice of religion is the making of a law even if it was not Congress, but the courts that did it. It must be argued that NO BRANCH of the government can make any law, rule, order or judgment against, “THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF”.

  • This is the low hanging fruitcake begging for attention at Zucotti Park’s north-east corner and unworthy of my time. Show me the smooth talkers with deep pocketed financing like Soros and Goldman-Sachs who are running their game under the table.

C’mon Blaze. Step it up a few notches.

  • @ ITOLDUSO – Thank you for your pithy and deeply considered comments. May I introduce a bit of light on your otherwise dim as coal wit. The issue is not one of just the Catholic Church but of the overreaching of the government into a realm that is constitutionally forbidden and the abrogation of first amendment rights.

While you, in your darkly held “wisdom” no doubt born of generations of inbreeding, fail to see is that even your right to hold your idiotic and biased opinions is covered by the same first amendment. You may think that you are unaffected by these power mad, agenda driven progressive erosions of our basic rights and freedoms – but you aren’t.

The difference is that people like me will defend your right to hold your bilious opinions. The progressives are continuing to make it an offense under the law and will subject you to imprisonment for them once they are done.

Get a clue and please learn to use your head for something other than a hat rack.

  • The apparent profession of belief is of no consequence and proves nothing. Even if he wasn’t lying James 2:19 covers it just fine. “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

  • The right to assemble is not without it’s constraints and individual rights do not trump the general welfare. Generally a permit for such a large assembly is required to aid the police and fire departments which have a responsibility to manage public safety. Rather than the 1,000 people you cite the report stated the theater had about 2000 people in it, which was deemed unsafe by the fire inspector. There were an undetermined number of people out in the street already.

Being that we were not there we do not know what the existing tone of the crowd was or what level of professionalism the LAPD employed. But at the end of the day, if the report is accurate, responding to an order to disperse with violent riot is not defensible.

  • Mr. Beck,

I’ve moved from thinking of you as a shill to seeing you as someone whose statements are backed up by facts. OK, I was thrown off at first by you personable and occasionally ironic presentations. But the more I checked you out the deeper the waters ran.

I trust that you have even more effective arrows in your quiver. I‘ll miss you at 5 o’clock but who knows? Maybe not so mush when you unveil the next step.

Spooky dude, watch you back! Glenn we got yours!

  • The words ‘Holy Koran’ properly translated into English reads, ‘cheap toilet paper’.
