  • I think the pain that’s coming is unavoidable. Greece is just the first domino. Every nation will have to go through it to one extent or another. The only question is, what will the world look like when the dust settles. I suspect it will be something unrecognizable by us today.

  • He’s the NUMBER ONE reason for letting Obama finish his term. Birthers, please, please, PLEASE, if you end up being right, please don’t leave us with Biden!!!!

  • OMG. And the media called Dan Quayle stupid. Biden is an embarassment. Not to any one party, but to America. He’s the reason I want Birthers to shut up. Because if they successfully removed Obama, we’d be stuck with this buffoon.

  • Went to Tblisi about 6 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The people were wonderful (though poor), the city was thriving and I never felt unsafe as a traveling American. A lot has happened since then, but I still cannot imagine it becoming one of the top ten UNsafe cities in America. Having spent time in Georgia, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, Greece and Italy, I have only been robbed in America. In fact it was in Atlanta during a layover coming home from Istanbul, that my vehicle was broken into and all my luggage stolen.

I realize that most American don’t generally see the worst of these locations, but I go on mission trips in these areas, so I’m in the heart of these cities. However, there are definitely American cities where I feel LESS safe than walking around Tblisi or Istanbul.

  • This is a preview of the future. When the entitlements are cut (as they WILL be), these mobs are gonna roam the streets victimizing people and stealing/destroying property. I will meet them at the door with whatever is necessary to protect my family.

  • One thing all the readers should know: In the wvast world of national and international charities, The Salvation Army is arguable the most conservative. In almost any city, when the local charitable agencies meet together, often times The Salvation Army is the ONLY charity in the room with a conservative world-view. Most (but not all) officers are politically conservative and have a philosophy of giving a hand UP not a hand OUT.

They have a strong stance against abortion, pornography, substance abuse, etc. I personally know many officers who are NRA members. The Salvation Army is one of the few organizations which serves the needy AND does it using conservative philosophies. They do not endorse candidates or contribute to PACs. They operate in the realm of political neutrality, but the officers generally have a conservative world view.

It is a 100% expectation that Salvation Army officers are saved and sanctified followers of Christ. It is a prerequisite for officership without exception.

  • In our town, The Salvation Army potential bell-ringer are instructed to say, “Thank You and God bless you.” They are also instructed to say, “Merry Christmas,“ NOT ”Happy Holidays.”

  • The Red Cross???? Seriously??? You trust THEM more? That may be the most inane post on this story!!! LOL!

  • Totally false and patently silly statement. This is a dealer who doesn‘t want to pay The Salvation Army’s prices at the car auction. Sour grapes dude.

  • So many of the comments on here are completely ignorant. Salvation Army officers work long hours for VERY LITTLE pay. The National Commander of The Salvation Army makes a tiny fraction of what any CEO of an organiztion this size would make.

They are there during times of disaster, not with an enormous PR department like the Red Cross. In a disaster they bring in a fraction of the donations that the Red Cross sucks in, but stays long past the exit of the news cameras and makes the dollars go ten times further. FYI, they are STILL helping victime of Huricane Katrina.

I think credit cards are a bad idea . . . PERIOD . . . for ANY reason. But it‘s not The Salvation Army’s job to tell their donors how they should or should not operate their finances.

Their central purpose, is to give the love of Jesus Christ to those in need. If it’s through foor, or shelter that’s the goal. It’s also through preaching and teaching about the Savior and the abundant life available through Him. The services they provide are a vehicle to deliver Christ to the lost. While there are those in any organization who lose sight of the mission, that does not condemn the whole organization, much less the mission.

God bless you . . . and merry Christmas (ding, ding, ding).
