  • Is This Vicious NHL Hit Worth 25 Playoff Games?

    April 22, 2012 at 10:37am

    In reply to rickroland.

Dude, that was one wicked hit. Dude was obviously targeting the hawk’s star player and deserved what he got. I feel that this suspension was a response to the NHL’s lack of dishing out punishment for prior big hits during these playoffs.

(Now to make a run at the other bozos who posted)

@Monk – Seriously dude, thou needest not troll the sports threads.
@old white guy – Seriously?? I would be up in arms if they suspended him for the hit if he didn’t A. didn’t leap, and B. didn’t target the dudes HEAD with his shoulders. If it was shoulder to shoulder, the hit wouldn‘t have been clean and a suspension wasn’t needed. The announcer said it best “He could have barreled through him if his SKATES DIDN’T LEAVE THE ICE.” Seriously man, there’s a line between beating the snot out of someone, and targeting them to try and incapacitate them. Torres crossed it, and he’s paying for it.

  • Most of the crew members there aren’t trained in martial arts…. so this wasn’t suprising for me in the least.
However, there should have been one MMA freak there (there’s plenty of those dudes hanging around everywhere) that could have easily handled the situtation.

  • I was actually there right after it happened. My pops-in-law was with me. We wanted to ride the ride, and a whole slew of patsys ERRRR “Cast Members” were there blockading the path. All they said was, “We don‘t know what’s going on, but we’re not letting anyone through for now.” I noticed how there was a whole crowd of people near the ride and only found out what happened today.

  • Graphic: Why Did Beck Behead a Barbie?

Fact check on Oletgier, the LDS church stopped the practice of polygamy on September 24th, 1890. We haven’t practiced it since then you dope. Those “polygamist mormons” you hear on the news are not a part of Glenn’s faith.

Seriously, do your own homework moron.

  • Wow, I thought this was supposed to be an article about how Newt Gingrich is a dope. Where did all this religious anti-mormon bigotry come to play?? I love the commenters here who are like, “I love Glenn Beck but his Mormonism is the worst abomination to walk the earth since Cain!!!” (or something like that.)

Seriously folks, if you’re scared about us and our “Zionist Regime” beliefs (allegedly…), just go to http://www.mormon.org and either have your fears confirmed, or change your opinion and drop the bigotry. You people are as worse as those atheist christmas-killers. I quote Mike Ditka. “STOP IT.”

  • Well, back in the day, a lot of players didn‘t wear helmuts since the protective technology wasn’t good anyways.

What I wonder is why there are a lot less people wearing the full plexi-glass shields they used to use back in the 90′s. I remember a good amount of players wore those.

  • Church Tithing Has Hit a Record Low in America

Yea, funny how the LDS church isn’t included since they teach that God mandates that people are tithed 10% of their income. That money goes to the church to pay for the buildings, print bibles and books of mormon, help missionary efforts, and help the poor. None of it goes towards the leadership.

  • This is strange for me… I swam competitively for 15+ years rocking speedos every step of the way. What the guy’s wearing in the camera shot are called “Jammers”. They’re a knee-length racing suit which is now the “longest” suit a racer can wear in competitions ever since the “Body Suit” ban that FINA enforced after the World Championships that happened two years ago.

Why couldn’t the dude wear the jammers?? That just baffles me since they’re the same thing as speedos, just cover a bit more.
