‘The PC Left is Just Hysterically Deranged’: John Derbyshire Speaks Out After Leaving National Review

“As I recall, James David Manning said that over thousands of years, Africans haven’t done anything or improved their lot in life, such as even built a ship with a sail. Well, Maybe they should start by building a ship and seeing if they can sail back home. They have to start somewhere.”
Then this James Manning was no historian and an idiot. Look at the pyramids sometime. There was an entire fleet from West Africa that sailed towarrd the new world for commerce decades before Columbus; even Columbus writes in his journals that he saw the remnants of ships on some of the American beaches that resembled African-type sailing vessels. Egypt, Ethiopia, Mali, etc. had thriving civilizations. By your standards, the Babylonians did nothing, nor the Sumerians, nor the Phoenicians. Try looking at history sometime.

“if black folk make up 15% of the U.S. population and make up 75% of the prison population, what are we to deduce? In “Realville” one would say that black folk are more prone to crime. In your PC world, the “white devils” are the problem because they’ve made too many criminal activities a crime! If facts, statistic’s and the truth are racist, then I’m proud to be one.”
Or maybe there are more blacks in prison because they can’t afford good lawyers, and most people actually brought to trial are convicted. Maybe more blacks are ‘prone to crime’ because they can‘t get out of the ghetto’s endless cycle of poverty brought on by cultural problems such as unwed pregnancies/fatherless homes. Put those same illiterate ghetto kids into a private school and watch them change overnight. Education matters; being stuck in second-rate inner city government run schools is destroying the black community. When those kids get to go to a real school with real textbooks and teachers who are better educated themselves, those kids do much better. It’s not genetic, it’s socio-economic and cultural and a lack of opportunity. And as long as there are racists who won’t hire blacks, won’t give them opportunities because they perceive them as less, then they will continue to have fewer options
Perhaps you’ll say, though, that it is also a racial trait in black dna to have fatherless homes and to be less intelligent than whites. I can’t argue logic with
‘Nasty and Indefensible’: National Review Fires John Derbyshire Over ‘The Talk: Nonblack Version’
April 8, 2012 at 8:12pm
Krebs and Maccow, I’m with you both on this. Black communities are not more violent or illiterate compared to white communities because they are black. They are, on average, more violent and illiterate because of cultural and socio-economic reasons, such as poverty. Here‘s something from a teacher’s perspective:
Just taking literacy and education as an example: in both white and black households where there is readily available reading material such as books, newspapers, magazines, etc., the children in those households tend to make better grades in school, whether they be white, black, hispanic, asian, or whatever. Where materials lack, student performance also is lower across all races.
Derby is a racist; he admitted that back in a 2003 interview with RedState contributor Kevin Holtsberry. According to RedState archives, Derby said, “I am a homophobe, though a mild and tolerant one, and a racist, though an even more mild and tolerant one, and those things are going to be illegal pretty soon, the way we are going.”
I refuse to judge people based on their race. If I see a group of white youths in hoodies and low-hanging pants, I walk on the other side of the street just as I would if I saw a group of black youths like that.
For Derby to attempt to soft-peddle his racism by saying that it’s not all blacks, but on average they are less than whites, it is still racism.

Maccow,
I agree; I am shocked by the majority of postings here in this thread. To think that there are this many racists trolling TheBlaze is horrible!
I saw a great program of Glen Beck ( I believe) on FoxNews a year or so back, where an inner-city school that was predominantly black was failing miserably in all ways academically. New leadership came in, made huge changes such as instituting a dress code, hiring more qualified teachers, etc. The change in student grades was incredible! It wasn’t a racial problem that they had, it was socio-economic problems that were keeping those kids from succeeding!
Derby believes there is more crime, violence, illiteracy, etc. in poor/urban black communities simply because they are black. The truth is that the current urban culture and socio-economic problems are to blame, not race.
Hate is taught; children are not naturally born racists. When I was a kid in a poor neighborhood (we all lived in trailers/mobile homes), I had neighbors who were white, black, Philippino, Thai, etc. We all played together just great. When you’re a kid and you want to play, you don’t care what the other kid looks like or what his race or religion are, you just want someone to play with. People think all Southerners must be racists, but we’re not. That was our neighborhood, and we were a bunch of poor southerners in north Florida. We had no violence, no shootings, no ganges. In Derby’s world, our kind of neighborhood can’t exist.
‘Lightning Rod for Controversy’: Another American Flag With Obama’s Face Shows Up In South Jersey

Encinom said, “1st Amendment trumps the whiny convservatives. If conservatives can not deal with it they sit on their thumbs and move to some facist country more to their liking.”
Um, aren’t we allowed to claim that 1st Amendment right, too, and complain on here if we want to? Or would you rather people only express opinions that you agree with, rather than truly having freedom of speech? Oh wait, you want us all to leave to another country, so I guess you gave the answer. You’re no more tolerant than anyone else based on your post, no matter how you may pretend to be.
And as for fascist countries, they’re the ones built on cults of personality, just as this flag represents. Think of all of the walls with portraits of dictators on them around the world for the last 100 years and more. Tyrants put their likeness up to be worshipped and adored, and their sycophantic followers put them up as well, then tell others to leave the country if they don’t like it. We’ll not give you the satisfaction. You’ll just have to endure being around those who disagree with you just as we endure your opinions. Welcome to America!

Putting his likeness on the flag is disgusting. I would not even want George Washington’s likeness on the flag, as much as I admire him. It‘s as if they’ve replaced the 50 states with Obama, as if he makes up this Union, rather than We The People. Soon his face will be all over the place on walls and billboards like Che or Mao or Lenin. Typical of tyrants. Big Brother is watching you!
Church Sign Goes Viral: ‘God Prefers Kind Atheists Over Hateful Christians’ (POLL)
April 3, 2012 at 4:42pm
Exactly. A hateful so-called ‘Christian’ is going to the same place as an atheist who denies God. You know where a person stands spiritually by the fruit they bear, as Christ said. An apple tree cannot bear oranges, nor an orange tree apples. A person full of hate cannot also be full of God (God is love, 1 John 4). They can be angry, and can even hate some things, such as sin and evil (Ecclesiastes 3: there is a time to love, and a time to hate). But they cannot be filled with hate and be a Christian. Galations 5: The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. Can a Christian sin? Of course. They’re forgiven, not perfect. Caveat: this is from a Biblical point of view, and I’m aware that not everyone believes in the Bible. This is just giving the perspective from a Biblical point of view, not trying to impose my views on anyone else. In a free country, everyone can believe whatever he or she wants, and that’s a good thing.
