  I had to see if it was true and there really is website!!! On his site he takes donations (to run the site), has paid advertising and he actually sells the plans for his furniture! Sounds like he quite the entrepreneur and small businessman, GB should be proud (lol). Sure would like to see his tax forms seeing how he receives SSI.
  I think it is time for some tough love with Stan the “Man?” Thornton and call him on his bluff, STOP the checks and this utter madness. Either way I believe we all win. BTW he has his email listed if you would like to say, Goo Goo Gaa Gaa, it is, Stanley_19802@yahoo.com.

  Does anyone question why the guy leaves when he hears sirens. Could be a previous run-in with the law? Warrants? Were both of them drunk? What an upstanding (sarcasm) citizen to stay put so he could give his side of the story. WHAT A SCHMUCK!

  I am ready to lose my mortgage deduction. I work 40+ hours a week. I am ready to lose all of my deductions. My wife and I make less than 60K a year! I am ready to oppose the “TAKERS”. BUT I am NOT ready to allow people to take over the USA or change “OUR” Constitution!

  I think that we should help out Israel and help them get entries into all of games, the article stated, “Iranian athletes have refused to compete against Israelis.” Why not just have an Israeli in each competition! Problem resolved.

  I really don’t know what he is so fired up about but I did a bit of quick research and this is what I found on Wikipedia.org ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcee )

  In 1981, Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence and a return of seized assets for 21 counts of racketeering by Frank and Thomas Romano, and of perjury in his testimony about the case. He was acquitted by a jury after his alleged co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify in court (resulting in a jail sentence for Borders).

  In 1988, the Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives took up the case, and Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413-3. He was then convicted in 1989 by the United States Senate, becoming the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate. The vote on the first article was 69 for and 26 opposed, providing two votes more than the two-thirds of those present that were needed to convict. The first article accused the judge of conspiracy. Conviction on any single article was enough to remove the judge from office. The Senate vote cut across party lines, with Senator Patrick J. Leahy, Democrat of Vermont, voting to convict his fellow party member, and Senator Arlen Specter, Republican of Pennsylvania, voting to acquit.[1]

  The Senate had the option to forbid Hastings from ever seeking federal office again, but did not do so. Alleged co-conspirator, attorney William Borders went to jail again for refusing to testify in the impeachment proceedings, but was later given a full pardon by President Bill Clinton on his last day in office.[2]

  All in all he sounds like the rest of “Our Elected Heroes”, that was sarcasm.

  I used to be a member of the CWA and they are an awful group of people. I am suprised he only hit once. They are great at hitting someone when they are down, it is their character to do so. Remeber CWA represents all major phone carriers in the US. AT&T, Verizon, Qwest, all the “Baby Bells” all wells as a host of other companies. CWA are the techs and people who answer the phones when you call them. Ever call the “Phone” company and get treated like dirt, called names, threatened? That is the CWA!!! Remember that the next time you call. If they have a foreign accent and are courteous then that would be a foreigner who is happy to make a living wage and treat their companies customers HAPPY not frustrated?
