  • The following is an excerpt from the article. I am so creeped out. This is a glimpse inside the mind of a monster:

it makes no sense to say that someone is harmed by being prevented from becoming an actual person. The reason is that, by virtue of our definition of the concept of ‘harm’ in the previous section, in order for a harm to occur, it is necessary that someone is in the condition of experiencing that harm.

If a potential person, like a fetus and a newborn, does not become an actual person, like you and us, then there is neither an actual nor a future person who can be harmed, which means that there is no harm at all.

  • Makes a good argument against abortion. Slippery slope. Where does it end up? Very creepy, saying the least. Chilling to realize these people are respected and actually considered experts in ethics; their opinions may actually be taken seriously. I am thoroughly creeped out.

  • No, it’s not all about greed, is it? It’s about LUST…..for POWER.

  • Wow, this story has really garnered a lot of comments. To me, it’s about 2 things: personal responsibility and fairness. If we really do believe in personal responsibility, we have to let people experience the consequences of their bad choices. Also the fee applied to everyone in that area so it was fair. I wonder what the insurer will do, if they had fire insurance.

  • Peters,
Thanks for pointing that out, well said. Without God, everything does fall apart. The point I have put forward in comments elsewhere in this blog is that when the Founders cited God-given rights as the moral underpinning of the declaration of independence from the British empire, they literally founded the nation on the principle of the spirituality of the Individual. To me, this placing of the Individual in the position of primary importance is the core and essence of our national identity, its uniqueness and intrinsic value. If the Individual is not acknowledged to be spiritually endowed, the supremacy of the Individual is supplanted by the supremacy of groups. Individual freedom, which the founders saw as the highest good and which the Constitution and Bill of Rights were designed to protect, is replaced by whatever is perceived to be best for the largest group or “collective”. I totally agree that the getting rid of God is key tho the progressive agenda, and suggest that the reason it is key is because that is the only way to take the issue of individual freedom out of the equation. These issues are being fought in the courts. I would very much like to hear from yourself or anyone in this forum whether the argument above would be of any relevance or value in courts where these issues are being decided.

  • Obama Omits ‘Creator’ From ‘Inalienable Rights’…Again

    In reply to LSX.

So, we now know it is intentional, but the question is why? However tempting it may be to ascribe sinister motivations couldn‘t it just be that it isn’t PC to acknowledge a Creator anymore and he would never say anything that isn’t PC? But….Considering how evil PC is, I guess that is a sinister motive!

  • They are training Islamists how to defend their civil rights. Which don’t exist under Islam.
