  They would be using frangible rounds that break apart once they hit someone serving a dual purpose, not going through the person and also making sure that the transfer of energy goes completely into the person giving maximum stopping power.

  This man had a choice. He was going to jail regardless and decided he wanted to get some shots in and make the job of those officers as hard as he could. He could have surrendered and did what he was told at any time. The subject is a criminal and made his choice. Why is there even a doubt about these officers’ actions?

  Love this comment. I am a Navy Reservist and a Deputy Sheriff and as an LEO when a crime takes place you have the obligation to make the arrest. If the person will not comply you escalate your force to the amount necessary to execute the arrest. It may not always be pretty but this man was a criminal who had already assaulted LEOs. All he had to do to make it stop was comply with the lawful commands of the officers on scene.

  Not that I agree with what this officer did but I understand it and believe he has that right. Do undercover officers now have to reveal their identities as well? Maybe I won’t apply to the drug squad.

  She surrendered her rights when she refused to follow the lawful commands of a LE officer. Being tazed definitely sucks but it is safer for both officer and suspect than fighting with them. A lot of agencies have the Tazer before soft hands on their use of force continuum, based on the chief’s statements at this agency it is the same step on the continuum giving the officer options.

  The reason it is illegal to film is because people edit the video and put it up on the internet trying to make the police look as bad as possible. Most modern PD’s have dash cams and many have a camera that is worn on the head or uniform. Cameras save more LE careers than they kill.
