  It would be nice to be able to tell him to get lost, but this is too big of a issue to ignore.

  My first inclination is to tell him “too bad”, but that doesn’t address the underlying problem.

  I’m sure the guy feels helpless, and of course it’s his fault. However, this subculture is for the most part anti-social (ironic, isn’t it?), and will only listen to black ‘leaders’ who refuse to accept responsibility for any problem in the community, Until there are black leaders that will cultivate a collective mindset of accountability, this will continue.

  Wise up, folks…the establishment is not evil, and we’re certainly not the problem. Get rid of the Sharptons and Jacksons, and start listening to people that understand that the only solution is to have a plan, work hard, rid yourself of negative influences, and start enjoying the results. The victim mentality has never worked and never will. Find new mentors and leaders to emulate and quite wasting your lives.

  Dear Representative Waters – Your anger is misdirected. What the Tea Party wants would make this country’s economy, job market, and prospects for all robust again. You shouldn’t even be mad at the President. He is in fact, furthering the agenda of what and whom he is. What you should be learning is that it doesn’t work. Capitalism does…for everyone. I know that is a bitter pill for you to swallow, but there is a reason that America‘s poor rank HIGH above the rest of the world’s poor. Why do you continue to support ideals that don’t work and never have? Do you really want to make change for black people or are you really more interested in continuing to be re-elected? Just look at how desperately Western Europe is trying to rid itself of Socialism…and ask yourself why. They have learned that our system is the best…and you should admit that Government needs to get out of the way and let the evil Private Sector to do what it does best…compete and thrive. It is better for everyone…exponentially better. Set aside your anger and just try to actually do what is really best for your constituents. -GT in Florida

  I’ve never eaten at Chick-fil-A…but now that I know there’s a company that actually has SOME values worth defending and preserving…I’m going to start patronizing the chain. DON’T BACK DOWN, Chick!

  This is disappointing but not surprising. They’ve done business like this in Washington for decades, and while it would be nice to repair the system in one midterm election, it is not realistic. These politicians are treating this past November as if it were a slap on the wrist and not a mandate to stop spending. Why would they? As a public, we have a long history of letting exasperation cause us to give up. Over and over, the voters get riled up over this issue or that for a few months and then lose interest and go back to the normal state of apathy. The politicians know this…and have come to depend on it. We have to be prepared to stay with this for the long haul over a period of 3-4 elections for sanity to be restored. Be prepared for plenty of lip service trying to convince us they ‘get it’ now, and some bones being thrown our way to patronize us. Can this latest display of spending be seen any other way but pure arrogance and defiance from a bunch on their way out of office? Here’s hoping we continue to grow the movement to take back government and take back our rightful place as BOSS of these parasites…and to have the determination to see it through no matter how long it takes. Think of this past November midterm election as just a start…continue to pester the wimps, thieves, and windbags to do what is right. Make the effort to actually write letters and cards to have your voice heard…(emails are OK but not nearly as effective). Demand townhall meetings and then followup by attending and participating. Vote the bums out with each voting opportunity, and reward those that live up to our expectations by supporting them. Freedom isn‘t just our soldiers’ and Marines’ responsibility, it is something for which we must all fight for and defend. Don’t give up.

  If there were a list of 500 things that local government needed to take care of…and somehow capitalizing the street signs made its way onto the list…it would come in dead last. Sometimes it looks like the Feds are just LOOKING for a way to spend and waste money. Obama & Co. can try to distance themselves all they want from absurdities like this, but his is the face of bureaucracy run amok and drunken with power. 2012 cannot come soon enough to vote the rest of these idiots out of office.

  These guys aren’t stupid…they’re deceitful…even the kindly old gentleman from Omaha. They know the lion’s share of all the entitlement spending…whether it be old or new…is going to end up squarely on the shoulders of the middle class. Neil should also have asked if they would sign a pledge to not shelter their money once taxes go up.
