  • I’ve never been a birther, but this looks really bad no matter what the ‘truth’ actually is. At the very least, he’s a BS artist. At worst, well frankly it’s bad.

    No one will care, though.

  • If a teenager or adult could look at her and insult her to her face, I’d be more concerned about how their parents raised them versus anything that is physically unusual about Lizzie. With her, my only concern was health, not whether or not she met some physical standard of beauty. After watching her story I see nothing ‘ugly’ and everything ‘beautiful’. There is, however, something wrong with the people insulting her; they’ve got some serious ugly inside that needs to get gone.

Her spirit is contagious and I have absolutely have no doubt that she will be successful in anything that she chooses to do.

  • Self defense is the opposite of ‘vigilantism’. it’s not about going around kicking butt, it’s about keeping your own butt (or that of an innocent) from being kicked. It’s not about turning a wrestling match into a life and death struggle,it’s about not dying in a life or death struggle.

If someone is trying to seriously injure or kill me, I’m not going to stand there, clutch my pearls and say ‘help help, I’m being oppressed, call the police!’ because by the time the cops get there, my dead body is on the ground and the assaillant is long gone. Unless that cop is standing RIGHT THERE during the attack, I’m on my own. Oh wait, that cop is UNARMED. Great, we’re both gonna die.

For a people who have this stereotypical pompous belief in intellectuality, this one jumps the shark. It’s the height of stupidity not to support self defense.

  • Ever wear your shoes around the interior of your home? Have small children? Have a pet?

Then your floor is contaminated. Or you walk through a public bathroom and then eventually walk through your kitchen…Everywhere your shoes have been, leaves traces around your home.

And when it comes to going to the bathroom, all it takes is one small kid not washing his hands and touching things to spread e.coli. Touch that raw chicken while cooking and then touch anything in your kitchen?/ Salmonella and camphylobactor…

    Cooties are everywhere.

  • How on earth can they ethically support a ‘slap on the wrist’ for grand theft?

  • If she doesn’t let this get in her way at 8, imagine what she’ll be doing at 20.

    Go, girl!

  • Uh, alternate economies…uh…doo doo doo doo doo…

    Please.

So who is going to actually work to make the stuff that you’re bartering with. Who is manufacturing and paying for the bandaids that you‘re using in your ’medical’ room? Who is paying the property taxes and the utilities on that building you just squat in? Oh wait, who is creating that electricity that runs through the power lines that gets to the building that you’re inhabiting? Who is providing the water that runs through the pipes/treatment plants that pours out of the faucets? Ad infinitum…

I understand protesting, but this isn’t anything but downright ridiculous. It‘s like absolutely no brain functioning is occuring and we’re witness to it.

  • This isn‘t what you would normally call ’a California university’. It’s an itty bitty private school in a bad part of Oakland. I‘m from the Bay Area and it wasn’t even a name I recognized. Had to Google it. Go look at the degrees offerred and you can immediately tell that it won’t have many students in comparsion to even a junior college there.

  • My husband drives a Honda, I drive a Toyota and it’s all about reliabilty. In the past I’ve owned a Ford, and a Subaru. My husband, a Ford, a Saab and yes a Honda Hybrid. But someone decided to total the latter in a parking lot after we only had it for a year. We decided against replacing it with another Hybrid, due to the exobitant future cost of replacing those batteries. In other words, we had a change of heart and decided that it wasn’t worth the future cost for a measely additional four miles to the gallon. So we ditched the hybrid idea.

For the record, neither of us have ever had a convertible.

And no, they won’t get us in a hybrid again. Merely because we just don’t want to deal with the battery issue. Marketing of any kind isnt’ going to make that happen.

  • “The signs were removed as soon as we were made aware of them”…

I’m SO tired of non-apologies. This message implies that they were not aware of their own marketing campaign, and of course they would never have allowed it had they ‘known’, so we apologize for our not knowing.

How about ‘we stepped in it in a boneheaded way and are sorry that we offended our customers’….? Honest and to the point.
